Two living rooms with their own fireplaces give the place a rare gift—space for togetherness and solitude under the same roof. The design feels considered rather than decorated, blending high-end comfort with the honest textures of its surroundings. What sets it apart is the way it balances retreat with gathering: a sauna and hot tub for unwinding, a pool table and firepit deck for the hours when everyone drifts back together. It's the kind of place built for a group that wants both. ## Overview Welcome to Makaha Lane - Base Camp, an exquisitely curated retreat that seamlessly blends luxury with nature's grandeur. Makaha Lane - Base Camp sits in the kind of landscape that doesn't compete for attention but holds it completely. This is a residence that earns its name honestly, a place designed not as a destination unto itself but as a launching point for days spent exploring the surrounding coastline, valleys, and open sky. The architecture is unfussy and grounded, built to frame the outdoors rather than shut it out, with an ease that makes settling in feel immediate. Inside, the space is clean and comfortable, arranged with a practicality that suits extended stays and active itineraries alike. The living areas are open and naturally lit, connecting to outdoor space where mornings begin slowly and evenings stretch long. A fully equipped kitchen invites you to cook with local ingredients, while the dining area gathers the group without formality. Bedrooms are restful and uncluttered, offering the kind of quiet that comes from being slightly removed from the rhythms of more trafficked destinations. Every detail suggests a home that has been thoughtfully prepared rather than staged, a place where guests are trusted to make the space their own. What defines Makaha Lane - Base Camp is the way it calibrates the balance between comfort and adventure. The residence serves as a reliable anchor for days that might range from early-morning hikes to long afternoons on the water. You return to a space that feels genuinely welcoming, where shared meals and unhurried conversation fill the common areas, and the surrounding landscape remains visible and close. The outdoor areas extend the living space naturally, blurring the line between inside and out in a way that feels earned by the climate and setting. This is a residence for travelers who measure a stay not by thread count but by the quality of the days it enables. Makaha Lane - Base Camp doesn't ask you to linger indoors. It gives you a reason to come back at the end of each day, sandy and sun-tired, to a place that already feels like it belongs to you. ## Amenities - **Amenities:** Sauna, Hot Tub / Jacuzzi, Cribs Available, Game Room, BBQ / Grill, Free Parking, Smoke Detectors, Fire Extinguisher, First Aid Kit, Free WiFi, Self-Catering Kitchen, Long-Term Stays Allowed, Baby Crib, Pool Table / Game Room, Backyard, Free Parking on Premises, Smoke & CO Detectors ## The residence This is a whole-home stay, not a hotel room list. WiFi went down but that’s the only negative based on my experience. (Guest) - 5/5 — Incredible property in a beautiful and easy to access location from the main village of Sunriver. Mt Batchelor is a short 25 minute drive and this house was easily my favorite air bnb I’ve ever stayed in! Absolutely… (Guest) ## Similar stays on Journey - [Skylight by AvantStay | Elevated Mountain Home — Sunriver, OR](https://www.journey.com/residences/delight-in-al-fresco-dining-with-mountain-views) - [Sunriver Quail by AvantStay | Game Room + Hot Tub — Sunriver, OR](https://www.journey.com/residences/unleash-adventure-in-sunrivers-stunning-landscape) - [Alder by AvantStay | Moody Retreat: Patio, Hot Tub — Sunriver, OR](https://www.journey.com/residences/experience-a-getaway-that-rejuvenates-the-body-and-soul) - [Sunriver by AvantStay | Modern Home w/ Indoor Pool — Sunriver, OR](https://www.journey.com/residences/escape-to-a-private-luxurious-mountain-sanctuary) - [Klamath by AvantStay | Premier Lakeside Cabin — Sunriver, OR](https://www.journey.com/residences/delight-in-spacious-living-with-a-mountain-backdrop) - [Tanner by AvantStay | Modern Cascades Escape — Sunriver, OR](https://www.journey.com/residences/indulge-in-the-ultimate-sunriver-getaway) ## Booking - Human booking page: https://www.journey.com/residences/soothe-your-soul-in-bends-premier-retreat - Prefill dates and occupancy with `create_booking_link`, or append `?from=YYYY-MM-DD&to=YYYY-MM-DD&adults=2#book` to the URL above. - The human completes checkout on Journey.
