Amangiri
As the sun casts its first golden rays over the vast, untouched landscapes of the Colorado Plateau, Amangiri emerges like a modern sanctuary sculpted right from the earth itself. Nestled in over 900 acres of exquisite wilderness, this luxury retreat offers an intimate connection with the ancient, rugged beauty of Canyon Point, inviting you to a journey not just through space, but through time.
Upon your arrival, the striking architecture of Amangiri blends seamlessly with the stark, raw beauty of the surrounding desert. Each of the resort’s 34 suites is a private haven of tranquility, designed with clean lines and natural materials that echo the mesas and rock formations framing the horizon. Floor-to-ceiling windows open up to panoramic views of the dramatic landscape, ensuring the desert’s magic is always within sight.
The heart of Amangiri, its mesa-embracing pool, is sculpted around the natural contours of the rocks, offering a refreshing oasis of calm. Here, you can float in the serene waters or lounge by the poolside, the quiet only broken by the gentle whisper of the desert breeze. The Aman Spa, a temple of wellness inspired by Navajo traditions, offers treatments that harness the healing powers of native herbs and ancient practices, connecting you deeply with the land’s spiritual heritage.
For those drawn to the spirit of adventure, Camp Sarika by Amangiri beckons. Just a short distance from the main resort, this remarkable outpost consists of 10 tented pavilions, each a fortress of comfort in the wild desert. Days at Camp Sarika promise exhilarating expeditions amid the towering plateaus and hidden canyons. As evening falls, gather around the fire pit under a canopy of stars for unforgettable stories and connections.
Dining at Amangiri is an experience steeped in the local flavors and textures of the Southwest. Ingredients sourced from the land tell their own stories, expertly crafted into dishes that celebrate the region’s rich culinary heritage. Whether you’re dining under the vast desert sky at Camp Sarika or within the sleek, minimalist spaces of Amangiri’s main restaurant, each meal is a journey through taste and tradition.
Beyond the boundaries of Amangiri, the ancient lands of Canyon Point await. Explore the iconic Grand Staircase-Escalante, venture into the depths of slot canyons, or behold the mystical formations at Bryce and Zion National Parks. Each adventure is a testament to the enduring beauty and mystery of this sacred region.
As your day ends, return to the embrace of Amangiri, where the luxury of silence offers a profound moment to reflect on the day’s journey. It’s more than a stay—it’s a profound engagement with nature and luxury, leaving you with memories that linger long after you depart.
At Amangiri, every moment is an invitation to experience the extraordinary, where the majestic landscape meets unmatched luxury. Here, in the heart of Canyon Point, find not just a place to stay, but a profound sense of peace and a renewed connection with the earth.

What we love about this stay
Request a Mesa View Suite on the eastern side—you want that first light hitting the sandstone at dawn, not the afternoon glare. Book the Via Ferrata climb early; it's the single experience that reframes the entire stay, and slots fill weeks out. For dinner, ask for the outdoor terrace table closest to the fire pit at Camp Sarika rather than the main restaurant—the food is sharper there, and the silence between courses is its own kind of theatre. Hit the pool at golden hour when the water turns copper and the canyon walls go soft. Skip the midday spa slots; late afternoon, when the light drops low through the treatment room windows, is when those Navajo-inspired rituals actually land. This place rewards stillness more than activity—resist the urge to overschedule.

We chose Big Water and stayed at a wonderful Bed and Breakfast there - because it was located close to all the activities that we had planned - Lone Rock Beach just a few minutes away to do some kayaking - rented a boat also at the local Boat Rentals in town - we went just across the street to Escalante the Grand Staircase where they filmed the Planet of the Apes - looked like we were on the moon - loved Allstrom Poiint - did the Paria Hoodoos - did Coyote Buttes and Buckskin Gulch hikes as well - Also went horseback riding with a guide just about 10 minutes from the home location down slot canyons - fantastic experience Bought some great deli sandwiches and a salad and had a fantastic experience away from the crowd - we have been to this area twice before and have done the Rainbow Bridge Tour - Antelope Canyon Tour and Float trip - this was just to unwind and be with nature - and we got exactly what we wanted and needed.
