The road narrows as it winds along the Bai Dai Peninsula, granite cliffs dropping sharply into turquoise water below. Anantara Quy Nhon Villas appears almost reluctantly, tucked into a private stretch of coastline where the foothills of the Vietnamese highlands give way to the South China Sea. The property occupies a dramatic slope of land between jungle-covered mountains and a crescent of sand, its collection of freestanding villas terraced into the hillside with the kind of restraint that lets the landscape remain the protagonist. Each villa is a self-contained retreat with its own pool, indoor-outdoor living spaces, and uninterrupted views across open water or the lush surrounding terrain. The architecture draws from Vietnamese vernacular forms, with dark timber, natural stone, and deep overhanging roofs that frame rather than compete with the setting.
Twenty-six villas make up the property, ranging from one-bedroom beachfront and hillside configurations to larger multi-bedroom residences suited for families or groups. The sense of seclusion is genuine. There are no neighboring developments visible from the property, and the scale is deliberately intimate. Guests move between the beach, the villas, and the central facilities along stone pathways shaded by tropical canopy. The main pool sits at the heart of the resort, oriented toward the coastline, flanked by loungers and daybeds that invite long afternoons of doing very little. A second, quieter pool is reserved for spa guests.
Dining centers on two restaurants. Sea Fire Salt is the resort's signature, positioned to capture sunset views over the bay, with a menu that emphasizes fresh seafood and prime cuts prepared over open flame. The setting is open-air and unhurried, the kind of place where dinner stretches into the evening without anyone noticing. For more casual meals, the poolside venue offers Vietnamese and international dishes throughout the day, often drawing on the local catch and regional ingredients from the Binh Dinh province. Cooking classes give guests a chance to engage more directly with Vietnamese cuisine, guided by the resort's chefs through market-style preparation techniques.
Anantara Spa occupies a serene position within the grounds, with treatment rooms that open to garden views and a menu rooted in both Vietnamese healing traditions and broader wellness practices. Yoga sessions, tai chi on the beach, and guided meditation complement the more structured spa offerings. Beyond the property, the surrounding area rewards exploration. Quy Nhon remains one of Vietnam's less-visited coastal cities, its fishing villages, Cham tower ruins, and local markets still largely untouched by large-scale tourism. The resort arranges excursions by boat, bicycle, or car, including visits to nearby islands and the ancient Cham citadel of Cha Ban.
What settles in over a stay at Anantara Quy Nhon is something harder to articulate than any single amenity or view. It is the particular quality of a place where the mountains press close to the sea, where the scale of the resort never exceeds the landscape it inhabits, and where the days take on a rhythm dictated by tide and light rather than itinerary. This is a stretch of Vietnam that still belongs mostly to itself, and the property seems to understand the privilege of being here.

What we love about this stay
It's the seclusion that gets you first — a bay that feels genuinely private, where the South China Sea isn't a backdrop but a companion to every quiet hour. The villas here are designed with local materials and Vietnamese art in a way that feels considered rather than curated, grounding you in the region without performing it. There's a rare unhurriedness to the place; the infinity pool edges toward the ocean, the gardens invite lingering, and the culinary approach draws from Quy Nhon's own traditions with real intention. What stays with you is the atmosphere after dark — blooming flowers on the night air, the sea still audible — a mood that's hard to manufacture and harder to forget.

The perfect pick for a special getaway and the most amazing staff We had an amazing stay at a beachfront pool villa, tailored to our every need and desire. The staff were outstanding throughout the whole time - catering to our every need and beyond. It felt like a completely private getaway and a luxurious pampering experience. Breakfast was delightful with a variety of choices available. We also took a train ride with Vietage by Anantara, which is an absolute must, highly recommend as the preferred method of getting to and from the hotel. Will definitely be coming back for more!

Incredible location The ocean view villa was really beautiful, clean and comfortable. The location is amazing, in front of the beach, which was almost always completely empty and great to enjoy for a walk or a dip in the ocean. The staff was really nice and polite too. I also booked a private tour with the hotel to visit the Champa towers and handicraft village and it was amazing! I really recommend this place for a calm and relaxing time in the nature at Quy Nhon!
