Babel, the estate's signature restaurant, draws directly from this harvest, presenting garden-driven dishes in a restored cattle shed where the seasonal menu changes with whatever is ripe. Greenhouse offers a lighter, more casual counterpart set among the plantings themselves, while the Bakery provides fresh breads, pastries, and provisions baked daily on the farm. The recently opened Spice Garden restaurant extends the culinary identity further with dishes rooted in the rich culinary heritage of the Cape.

Accommodations are spread across the property in restored farmstead cottages and suites, each one designed with a restraint that lets the thick walls, wooden beams, and deep soaking tubs speak for themselves. Materials are honest throughout: rough-hewn stone, linen, iron, handmade ceramics. Rooms open onto private gardens or courtyards, many with outdoor showers framed by climbing vines. The Fynbos Spa draws on indigenous botanicals grown on the farm, offering treatments in a series of interconnected spaces that include a hammam, flotation pool, and outdoor relaxation areas surrounded by restios and wild grasses. The property also includes several swimming pools, a farm shop stocked with house-made preserves and estate wines, and its own cellar where Babylonstoren's wines and olive oils are produced on site.

Beyond the estate's borders, the Franschhoek and Stellenbosch wine routes are a short drive in either direction, placing the farm within easy reach of some of South Africa's most celebrated cellars, galleries, and restaurants. But many guests find that the pull of the property itself is enough. Between the garden walks, the cellar tastings, the slow meals built from what was picked that morning, and the late afternoon light turning the Simonsberg copper and gold, Babylonstoren creates a rhythm that rewards staying put.
