What we love about this stay
Book a garden cottage rather than the manor rooms — the whitewashed walls, private stoep, and direct garden access make mornings here feel like waking inside a still life. Get into the eight-acre garden before 8am, when the light is low and the chefs are already harvesting; it's the most intimate window into what makes this place tick. At Babel, ask for a table near the windows and let the kitchen guide you — the produce was in the soil hours ago, and you'll taste it. Skip scheduling a packed day; instead, grab one of the complimentary bikes after lunch and ride the vineyard lanes toward Simondium Mountain as the afternoon softens. Babylonstoren rewards slowness — the less you plan, the more it reveals.

What an incredible experience! Our stay was nothing short of perfect. One of the most incredible experiences of our lives! Our stay was absolutely perfect. We enjoyed every single activity the hotel offered—from bread-baking classes to the cellar tour, yoga and many others activities. Our room was amazing, it even had a heated bathroom floor! The variety of restaurants, with their incredible food and wine, was also a highlight. The hotel is gorgeous and the rooms are so cozy, but the highlight for us was the kindness of the entire Babylonstoren team. They were all so special and friendly. We are especially grateful for the thoughtful surprises they prepared for our honeymoon. We can't wait to come back! Fernanda and Filipe

This hotel is the definition of “Unreasonable Hospitality” - you never want to leave! We got the two bedroom cottage - it’s like having your own house. All the complimentary tours the hotel offers are amazing. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The food is insane, fresh, delicious. There are three pools, incredible walks, chickens roaming around. Every day at 5 pm someone knocks on your door to offer you an amuse bouche and in the morning they re-stock your fresh fruit in the room from the orchard. We even had two days of rain and we had the best time.

Exceptional hospitality! Our cottage was located in a very quiet area, and was very spacious and comfortable. The activities which we did (wine tour and olive tour) were well organised and fascinating. Staff were super friendly and helpful and every need was anticipated (Wellington boots for the rain, bicycles to cycle around and the golf cart to get to the main areas). The food was simple, fresh and very tasty.
