What we love about this stay
Request one of the upper-floor rooms facing Grodzka Street — the Art Deco detailing is sharpest in the corner suites, and at dusk the light through those tall windows turns the geometric plasterwork amber. Don't rush dinner elsewhere your first night; the restaurant here leans into Małopolska flavors with real conviction, and the kitchen is at its best midweek when the chef has room to improvise. After dinner, settle into the lounge bar's velvet banquette nearest the back wall — it's quieter, the lighting is flattering, and the bartender makes a remarkable szarlotka cocktail worth asking for by name. Very helpful staff and well decorated hotel with great location. My wife is an interior designer and She was all our stay taking pictures of every corner.

The property is situated 5 minute walk from the main square and even closer to Wawel Castle, So very well positioned. The room we stayed was 108 which is well positioned and overlooks the courtyard. Bathroom is well appointed, good shower and nice Molton Brown soaps, shampoo and bathgel and cream. The staff were always helpful when we spoke with them.

Balthazar is top notch hotel. Staff is eager to assist and goes above and beyond. I would recommend this hotel without any reservations and I would definitely return to the Balthazar in Krakow.

Location 10/10 Housekeeping is available. There is a tiny washer but no dryer but it didn’t really affect our time there. We unfortunately booked a room without elevator access so we hiked up to the third floor each evening but again only mentioned it for those with mobility issues. Amazing restaurant right across from the hotel and it is a must. Higher end but well priced and food is amazing. Would 100% stay here again!!!!
