The entrance is unassuming from the boulevard, but step through the doors of Hôtel Le Doge and you cross into a different era entirely. This Relais & Châteaux property occupies a restored 1930s Art Deco residence in Casablanca, its interiors a lavish tribute to the architectural movement that once defined the city's most ambitious buildings. Every surface carries intention: sculpted plasterwork, period furnishings, stained glass, marble floors, and hand-carved woodwork that recall the craftsmanship of a more deliberate age. The effect is less museum than living salon, a place where the grandeur of early twentieth-century Casablanca has been preserved with genuine devotion rather than nostalgic performance.
The hotel houses just sixteen rooms and suites, each individually designed and named, blending Art Deco authenticity with understated modern comfort. Rich fabrics, period lighting, and curated artwork give each space a distinctive personality. Some rooms open to city views, while others look inward to the property's quieter corners. The scale is intimate by design, offering a sense of privacy and personal attention that larger hotels cannot replicate. A hammam and spa provide a place to slow down, drawing on Moroccan wellness traditions within the property's refined setting. The rooftop terrace offers open-air views across Casablanca's skyline, a compelling vantage point for morning coffee or evening drinks as the city shifts below.
Dining at Hôtel Le Doge reflects both its Moroccan roots and its French-inflected heritage. The restaurant serves refined cuisine in a setting that feels like a private dining room, with careful attention to local ingredients and seasonal preparation. Meals here are unhurried, complemented by the property's attentive but never intrusive service. The bar, with its period details and low lighting, invites lingering over a well-made cocktail or a glass of wine.
Casablanca itself is a city of contrasts, where French colonial architecture stands alongside modern towers and traditional medina streets. Hôtel Le Doge sits in the heart of this energy, close to the city's commercial center and cultural landmarks. Yet inside, the rhythm changes. The property creates a rare sense of enclosure and calm, a space where the textures of Moroccan hospitality meet the precision of European design heritage. What stays with you is the feeling of having been welcomed into something personal, a residence that never stopped being one, even as it opened its doors to the world.

What we love about this stay
What strikes you here isn't the grandeur itself — it's how the grandeur feels intimate. This is a private mansion in the truest sense, where hand-carved woodwork and mosaic tiles carry the weight of Moroccan craft while velvet draperies and crystal chandeliers nod unmistakably to French sensibility. Each room is individually decorated, which means you're not staying in a category — you're staying in a personality. Le DOGE sits in the real, living heart of Casablanca, not above it, and that proximity to the city's pulse makes returning to its quiet corridors feel like slipping into a secret. It's the kind of place where the dining blurs cultures so naturally you stop noticing the seams, and where the scale stays small enough that luxury never tips into spectacle.

I loved our stay at the property. Everyone from bellhop to front desk to manager is hospitable, helpful and always ready to go above and beyond with a smile. We really liked the restaurant on fifth floor, always good for dinner and/or late night coffee/dessert. Loved the Moroccan cookies we had on arrival and throughout our stay. The only thing we would be teeny unhappy about is shower drainage (it drains slow) and lack of exhaust fans in the bathrooms. We especially appreciated the lady who checked us in (at front desk), she is incredibly helpful and gave me great tips for shopping for souvenirs. We also spoke to Amin (at the front desk) couple of times in the evening, he provided great service and introduced us to the first floor library which both of us appreciated being bibliophiles.

Great boutique hotel If you prefer unique boutique hotels this is great. The upstairs dining/bar was great. The Moroccan dinner was average at best but the service was great.
