Hotel Nyack announces itself with a personality that feels distinctly its own. Housed in a mid-century building reimagined with bold, art-forward interiors, the property leans into the creative spirit of its namesake village along the Hudson River. Color is used with intention here, from vivid murals and gallery-worthy installations to playful patterns that thread through corridors and common spaces. It is a hotel that rewards curiosity, where every corner holds something unexpected and the atmosphere carries a warmth that feels more neighborhood gathering place than corporate hospitality.
The 133 guest rooms reflect the property's commitment to design-driven comfort. Expect clean lines softened by pops of color, curated artwork, and thoughtful touches that nod to the area's artistic heritage. Rooms range from cozy kings to more spacious suites, each outfitted with modern essentials and a sense of character that resists sameness. Common areas encourage lingering. The lobby doubles as a social hub, its eclectic furnishings and rotating art creating the kind of space where conversations start easily. A fitness center is available for guests looking to stay active, and meeting and event spaces accommodate gatherings of various sizes with the same design-forward sensibility found throughout.
BJ's on the Water, the property's restaurant, offers a dining experience rooted in its riverside setting. The menu draws on American comfort fare, and the waterfront views give meals a sense of occasion that extends well beyond the plate. It is the kind of place where a long weekend lunch can stretch into the late afternoon without anyone checking the time. The hotel's bar program complements the food with craft cocktails and a laid-back energy that mirrors the village's own creative, unhurried pace.
Nyack itself is a destination worth exploring on foot. The village's Main Street is lined with independent shops, galleries, and cafes that have attracted artists, writers, and weekenders from New York City for generations. The proximity to the Hudson River and surrounding trails offers easy access to outdoor pursuits, while the cultural calendar brings a steady rotation of festivals, theater, and community events throughout the year. Hotel Nyack sits at the intersection of all of this, close enough to the action to make exploration effortless, quiet enough to feel like a genuine retreat from the city.
What stays with you after a night here is the sense that this hotel was built around a point of view. Hotel Nyack does not aspire to anonymity or safe minimalism. It takes the creative energy of its village and folds it into every detail, leaving you with the feeling that you have not just visited a place but experienced a particular way of seeing it.

What we love about this stay
There's something about a hotel that genuinely absorbs the personality of its town rather than just borrowing the zip code. Hotel Nyack feels like it belongs to its Hudson River setting — the art on the walls, the contemporary edge of the interiors, the way the lobby draws in locals alongside guests as the evening unfolds. It's a boutique property with real creative energy, not the manufactured kind, rooted in a community where artistic spirit isn't a branding exercise but a way of life. The seasonal pool offers a quieter counterpoint to all that personality, and the on-site restaurant leans into regional flavors with genuine intention. What stays with you is less any single detail and more the cumulative sense of a place that's both polished and unpretentious — a rare balance that makes Nyack itself feel like the amenity.

I loved the look of the hotel and the room was very clean and modern. The drinks from the bar were very good and the food was amazing. I will definitely be returning!

In the pictures, the hotel looked great. Contemporary and well designed. The rooms looked good in the photos. However, our room, being the best room that can be booked, was lacking in so many features - the mini bar was empty, there was no actual table in the Living Room (the lighting was poor in this room also), we were given a complimentary bottle of wine with my Tablet Plus account however, when I asked at reception for a bottle opener, I was told I'd have to come downstairs to the restaurant to have it opened - in the end we had to have a member of staff come to our room to open it for us - we were clearly not allowed sharp objects in the room. A bottle of wine we had brought with us was left unopened as the opener was not allowed to be left in the room. The bathrooms were poorly constructed - holes in the walls, gaps in the tile where it met the wall and a very suspect stain on the tiled wall in the Powder Room. We had booked a table at the restaurant, BV's Grille. We had a drink at the bar and told the hostess that we had an 8.45 reservation and she forget and left us waiting for our table until 9.30. Our meal took over two hours to complete - very ineffcient service and mediocre food. We were graciously comped for our entire meal but the experience was sub standard for a restaurant associated with a Tablet hotel. In general, I felt very disappointed that Tablet had given such a great write up for what turned out to be a very mediocre hotel.

We did not like anything about the hotel and although we had booked for three nights, we decided to leave after the first night.
