LUMIERE villa
Perched above the caldera on the volcanic cliffs of Imerovigli, LUMIERE villa occupies one of the most commanding positions on Santorini. The approach reveals what the island does best at this altitude: whitewashed forms carved into the hillside, infinity edges dissolving into blue, and a silence that belongs to elevation rather than isolation. This is not a large-scale resort but a private villa experience, intimate in scale and deliberate in its design, where the architecture channels the Aegean light that gives the property its name.
The villa unfolds across multiple levels, following the natural contour of the caldera rock face. Interiors are minimal and warm, blending Cycladic tradition with contemporary comforts. Clean white walls, natural stone, and smooth curves create spaces that feel both sculptural and livable. The private terrace and heated plunge pool look directly out over the caldera, framing the kind of sunset view that has defined Santorini's global reputation. Every room is oriented toward the water, ensuring that the relationship between interior life and the vast horizon outside is never interrupted. The accommodation is suited to couples or small groups seeking the privacy of a home with the finish of a luxury hotel.
Imerovigli itself sits at the highest point of the caldera rim, quieter and more residential than the busier villages of Fira and Oia that flank it on either side. The walking path along the caldera connects all three, offering one of the most scenic routes in the Cyclades. Fira's restaurants, galleries, and nightlife are a short walk or drive south, while the trail north toward Oia passes the dramatic rock formation of Skaros, a Venetian-era castle ruin jutting out into the sea. The location offers both solitude and access, a base from which the rest of the island unfolds naturally.
What stays with you at LUMIERE villa is the quality of stillness. The scale is human. The light shifts across the walls throughout the day, moving from cool morning blue to the golden hour theatrics the caldera is famous for. There is no lobby, no crowd, no schedule to keep. Just the pool, the terrace, the view, and the particular rhythm that emerges when a place has been designed not to impress but to hold your attention gently, hour after hour, until the sun drops below the waterline and the sky catches fire one more time.

What we love about this stay
Da Lat has a way of slowing your pulse, and LUMIERE feels like a villa that understands that instinct rather than fights it. There's a domesticity here that appeals to a certain kind of traveler — one who wants a kitchen to cook in, a living room that actually breathes, and a terrace that earns its place. The garden views from the balcony anchor the whole experience, giving you something green and unhurried to look at while the highland air does its quiet work. It's the kind of stay that suits people who don't need a lobby or a concierge desk to feel held — just space, privacy, and a setting that feels genuinely lived-in rather than staged.

Absolutely amazing! Stayed there this past weekend for our anniversary and the staff, hotel, rooms were beyond our expectations! Everything was so clean and smelled like new. Customer service was beyond anything we could have imagined. We also brought our dog and they were so wonderful to her. Even provided a dog bowl and bed upon arrival! Loved this place!

This is a stunning hotel! I would highly recommend it. We stayed in a 2 bdrm condo and our expectations were exceeded and ALL the staff went above and beyond to make our stay pleasant and enjoyable. Particularly Julia and Jose!! The owners also went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The beds were very comfortable, the views were lovely, and the overall cleanliness of housekeeping "everyday" was superior. The breakfast buffet was really tasty, high quality and conveniently located within the hotel. Wonderful location! One block from the hotel you are in the heart of The Village, shops, restaurants and the Gondala. We wished we could have stayed longer!

For us, this was a rare foray into high-end luxury stays. Sometimes that can be intimidating for newcomers to the sphere. We've definitely felt that discomfort elsewhere, even here in Telluride. Not here. We were greeted warmly by the manager, put at instant ease by her. All our silly questions and concerns were graciously addressed. Likewise the rest of the staff - to a person - showed us the same comforting hospitality. Our suite was spacious, quiet, luxury-filled, and exquisitely decorated and furnished. The views from the two generous balconies were stunning. Not facing the ski slopes, which suited us much better. This was a memorable stay.

My husband and I stayed here in June, during the off-peak season. We travel often and cannot speak highly enough of how friendly, helpful and professional the staff at Lumiere were. From the moment we arrived, the bell boy was genuinely friendly and very helpful. He was very attentive to our dog and immediately offered to bring up a dog bed and water/food bowls to our room. He also gave us a package of treats for our dog as well. The front desk staff was very knowledgeable about hikes in the area and went above and beyond to make sure we didn't have any further questions. All the staff of Lumiere were very friendly throughout our stay. Our room had a great mountain view, was very clean and the bathroom was superb! We were treated so well, this will definitely be the place we stay when we visit Telluride!

This was a beautiful and unique hotel. The staff was very helpful and provided wonderful service to us. They even upgraded us from a Queen room to a King room. The room was beautiful and had a nice fireplace with a couch and some chairs. The breakfast in the morning had nice variety and was good. The restaurant at dinner had amazing food as well. We loved the steak especially. The reason I give this 4 stars instead of 5 was because of room service. They organized and moved all of our belongings and even closed my suitcase which got everything disorganized. So we cancelled room service for the rest of the time. Also, there is no air conditioning so it got a little warm during the afternoon in the summertime. Otherwise, we had a wonderful experience and I would recommend this to all.
