The lobby opens not to a wall or a desk but to the water itself. Floor-to-ceiling glass frames Victoria Harbour in an unbroken panorama, and the effect is immediate: Hong Kong's most iconic skyline becomes the architecture of arrival. Regent Hong Kong, reopened after a comprehensive reimagining, occupies a position on the Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront that no other hotel in the city can replicate. The building sits at the very edge of Kowloon, where harbour, city, and sky converge in a single sightline. Every public space, every corridor, every room has been designed around that relationship with the water.
The 497 rooms and suites are among the most spacious in Hong Kong, and the majority face the harbour directly. Interiors draw on a refined palette of warm woods, soft neutrals, and jade-toned accents, with large windows that pull the waterfront deep into each room. Suites on the upper floors offer expansive living areas and freestanding soaking tubs positioned against the glass, turning a bath into something closer to a private viewing gallery. The Presidential Suite spans a full corner of the building, with sweeping harbour views from nearly every angle.
Dining at the property is varied and deliberate. Lai Ching Heen, the hotel's Cantonese restaurant, is one of the city's most celebrated fine dining destinations, presenting classic Cantonese cuisine with precision and restraint. Harbourside offers an extensive international buffet anchored by its waterfront setting, while Steak House serves prime cuts in a more intimate, wood-panelled atmosphere. The Lobby Lounge, set against that defining wall of harbour-facing glass, serves afternoon tea and cocktails with one of the most photographed backdrops in Asia. On the upper level, the rooftop bar provides open-air drinking against a skyline that shifts from steel blue to electric neon as evening settles over the harbour.
The spa occupies a tranquil floor above the bustle of the city, offering treatment rooms, a thermal suite, and wellness rituals that blend Eastern and Western traditions. The outdoor swimming pool, flanked by private cabanas, faces the harbour and catches both morning light and the glow of the evening skyline. Below the hotel, the location itself does much of the work. The Star Ferry pier is steps away, connecting guests to Hong Kong Island in minutes. The Tsim Sha Tsui promenade stretches along the waterfront, and the cultural institutions of the West Kowloon district sit within easy reach.
What distinguishes Regent Hong Kong is not simply its category or its finishes but its insistence on proximity. The harbour is not a backdrop here. It is the organizing principle of the entire experience, shaping every meal, every view, every quiet moment at the end of the day. You leave with the sense that you did not just visit Hong Kong but lived, for a time, at its exact center.

What we love about this stay
There's a particular quality to a hotel that orients itself entirely around a harbour — not as backdrop, but as organizing principle. Here, Chi Wing Lo's design doesn't compete with that view; it defers to it, wrapping you in bespoke textures and restrained lighting that feel considered rather than showy. The lobby announces this immediately, those sweeping harbour sightlines setting a tone that's confident but unhurried. What lingers is the sense of elevation — not just physical height above the streets, but a calibrated distance from the city's relentless energy. The infinity jacuzzis at pool level, edging toward the water below, blur the line between containment and openness in a way that feels genuinely rare. It's a property for travelers who want Hong Kong's intensity on their terms, close enough to feel the pulse but removed enough to think clearly.
