The land announces itself before the architecture does. The Cedars Ranch unfolds across open pastures and rolling terrain where cedar trees frame the horizon and the pace of arrival slows almost immediately. Managed by Reverie, a hospitality collective known for curating distinctive short-term stays, this is a property that leans into its agrarian roots while offering the comfort and intention of a thoughtfully designed retreat. The ranch setting is genuine, not theatrical. Fences line the property, gravel paths connect its spaces, and the structures sit low against the landscape as if they've always been here.
Accommodations at The Cedars Ranch favor character over uniformity. The property offers a collection of distinct lodging options, each with its own layout and personality. Interiors draw from a ranch vernacular that feels honest rather than styled, with natural materials, warm wood tones, and an emphasis on comfort that suits the setting. Expect generous living areas, well-appointed kitchens, and outdoor spaces that orient guests toward the surrounding land. The scale of the property allows for privacy without isolation, and the arrangement of buildings across the grounds gives each stay a sense of its own territory.
Much of the experience here is shaped by the outdoors. The grounds themselves are the main amenity, offering space to walk, gather, or simply sit with a view that stretches past the tree line. Fire pits, porches, and shaded outdoor areas encourage lingering well past sundown. The property is well suited for groups and gatherings, with enough room and flexibility to host celebrations, family reunions, or creative retreats without feeling constrained. There is a self-directed quality to time spent here. Mornings might begin with coffee on the porch, afternoons with a long walk through the pastures, evenings around the fire as the sky opens up overhead.
The Cedars Ranch is the kind of place that resists easy categorization. It is not a resort, not a cabin rental, not a traditional hotel. It sits somewhere between a family compound and a private estate, offering the infrastructure for a memorable stay without imposing a rigid itinerary. What stays with you afterward is the openness of it all. The way the land holds the buildings lightly, the way the quiet feels generous rather than empty, and the way a few days here recalibrate something you didn't realize had drifted.

What we love about this stay
There's a particular quality to a place that leans into the unhurried pace of Wimberley rather than fighting it, and The Cedars Ranch feels like it understands that instinct. It's a property that doesn't try to be everything — instead, it offers a kind of quiet self-sufficiency, the sort of stay where you settle into your room, make your own coffee, and let the day unfold without agenda. The garden and pool give the grounds a sense of breathing room that feels genuinely Texan in its spaciousness. It suits the traveler who wants proximity to the Hill Country without performative rusticity — somewhere grounded, comfortable, and unpretentious enough that you remember how it felt, not just how it looked.

Great getaway. Something different and adventurous Really cool property. Something different, for sure. The cabin was very comfortable and there were some unexpected and fun amenities on the property. It is DARK out there, so we really enjoyed seeing the stars at night. Quiet, safe - and had a nice cool breeze despite it being the summer months. We went in July and I will say that the cabin did get pretty hot during the day (your typical 100 degree Texas Hill Country summer day)...so you might want to go into Wimberly or do a water activity or go somewhere with good AC during the day. But the nights were fantastic.
