Rising sixteen stories from the edge of the Sunset Strip, The London West Hollywood at Beverly Hills commands a particular vantage point over the Los Angeles basin. The building presents itself as a vertical residence rather than a conventional hotel, its clean architectural lines and subdued façade standing in quiet contrast to the billboards and nightlife that define this stretch of boulevard. Step inside and the atmosphere shifts immediately. The lobby is sleek, composed, and layered with a design sensibility that nods to its London namesake without ever becoming thematic. There is a transatlantic assurance here, a sense that someone has thought carefully about proportion, texture, and restraint.
The 226 suites are among the most spacious in the city, each designed as a genuine living space with separate sitting areas, generous layouts, and floor-to-ceiling windows that frame panoramic views stretching from the Hollywood Hills to downtown and, on clear days, the Pacific. The interiors favor a palette of warm neutrals and tailored finishes, creating rooms that feel residential rather than decorated. Penthouse suites occupy the upper floors and offer wraparound terraces and expanded entertaining space, while the property's signature cosmopolitan suites provide a refined home base for guests seeking something between a hotel room and a private apartment. Every suite includes a pantry kitchen, reinforcing the sense that this is a place designed for stays measured in days rather than hours.
The rooftop pool deck is the property's social heart, a sun-drenched terrace with cabanas, lounge seating, and sweeping views that survey the sprawl below with a kind of unhurried authority. It is the sort of place where an afternoon dissolves easily. Boxwood, the on-site restaurant, serves a menu rooted in modern British and American cooking, offering both indoor dining and an al fresco terrace that catches the Southern California light. The adjacent bar extends the experience into the evening with cocktails that lean classic and a setting that rewards slow conversation. A well-equipped fitness center anchors the wellness offering, while the property's concierge operates with the kind of local fluency that comes from being embedded in this particular neighborhood for years.
Location matters here. The hotel sits at the seam where West Hollywood meets Beverly Hills, placing guests within moments of the Design District, Robertson Boulevard, and the restaurants and galleries that cluster along the surrounding blocks. The Sunset Strip's legacy venues are a short walk in either direction. Yet the property itself remains notably quiet, a function of its elevation and its inward-facing design. You return from the energy of the city to a space that operates at a different tempo. The London West Hollywood is not trying to compete with the spectacle outside its doors. It offers something rarer: a composed, generously proportioned retreat that lets Los Angeles come to you on your own terms, framed through glass and softened by a very particular kind of calm.

What we love about this stay
There's a particular quality to a hotel that sits in the middle of West Hollywood yet manages to feel like its own ecosystem — rooftop pool, rooftop dining, salon, suites with soaking tubs and private balconies — all stacked vertically so you never quite need to leave, but the city is always right there when you want it. The London has that dual identity: polished and contained inside, sprawling and cinematic outside. The suites are genuinely spacious, designed with a clean contemporary hand that avoids both sterility and excess. What lingers is the rooftop — dining with panoramic views of the hills feels less performative here and more like a quiet privilege. It's a place for people who want proximity to the energy of LA without being consumed by it.

We came for a big birthday and requested a "nice room". The London put us up in the most amazing suite -- it felt like the penthouse, though it wasn't. An amazing gift! Then, my two suite-mate's bedroom was up against another suite, where the people inhabiting it partied all night long, loudly. When my friend complained to the staff, they refunded us part of our room immediately. I just cannot say enough about the customer service or the kindness they bestowed upon us for my birthday. It was truly one of the best experiences ever. I am now a London loyalist!
