The building announces itself before you've crossed the threshold. The Ned Doha occupies the former Ministry of Finance in Msheireb Downtown, a landmark structure reimagined with the same Art Deco reverence that defined its London sibling but inflected with something distinctly of this place. Brass detailing, deep green marble, terrazzo floors, and period-inspired woodwork fill the interiors with a warmth that feels almost anachronistic against Doha's glass-and-steel skyline. The lobby alone sets the register: grand columns, coffered ceilings, and a visual language that borrows from the jazz age without lapsing into pastiche. Across its floors, 286 rooms and suites carry the aesthetic forward with rich fabrics, vintage-inspired furnishings, and considered palettes that shift between forest greens, warm neutrals, and lacquered burgundy.
The dining and drinking program is expansive enough to feel like a neighborhood within a hotel. Cecconi's brings its well-traveled Italian menu to a striking ground-floor room, while Kaia delivers coastal Mediterranean plates with Japanese inflections. Hadika serves Middle Eastern cuisine in surroundings that draw on the region's own design traditions, and Mayfair-rooted Malibu Kitchen offers something lighter and more casual for daytime grazing. Upstairs, the rooftop pool and lounge provide panoramic views over Msheireb and out toward the bay, a setting that transforms as the light shifts from afternoon gold to the cooler tones of a Gulf evening. The ground-floor Electric Bar & Diner anchors the social life of the building with cocktails and live music in a space that channels the spirit of a 1920s supper club.
Ned's Club, the hotel's private members' club, occupies its own distinct territory within the property, offering a rooftop pool, gym, spa, and dedicated dining spaces reserved for members and hotel guests. The spa draws from both Eastern and Western wellness traditions, with hammam-inspired treatments alongside more contemporary bodywork. A fully equipped gym and movement studio complement the offering for those who want something more active. The club model creates a layered sense of access throughout the building, where public restaurants sit alongside members-only spaces in a way that gives guests a feeling of being on the inside of something.
Msheireb Downtown itself is Doha's most ambitious urban regeneration project, a neighborhood built from scratch around sustainability, culture, and walkability. The National Museum of Qatar, Souq Waqif, and the Corniche waterfront are all within close reach, placing The Ned Doha at the intersection of the city's heritage quarter and its contemporary ambitions. It is a hotel that mirrors Doha's own arc: deeply aware of tradition, unapologetically forward-facing, and built at a scale that rewards repeated exploration.

What we love about this stay
There's something quietly disarming about a hotel that announces itself through scent before anything else — here, it's oud drifting through the lobby, grounding you in place before you've even checked in. The Ned Doha feels like a study in considered contrasts: earthy desert tones against the cool geometry of a modern city, Qatari warmth threaded through design that never overplays its hand. The rooms lean into texture and craftsmanship rather than spectacle, with rich textiles that feel chosen, not staged. What lingers is the sense that this property understands Doha's particular duality — traditional and relentlessly forward-looking — and mirrors it without trying too hard.

So 70’s I literally traveled back to 1970’s! I loved every corner of the hotel. I loved that every night there is a live music. The atmosphere will take you to another time. Even the products that are in the shower are worth trying and they smell amazing. Worth the experience definitely recommend to stay at this hotel. Also it is in the middle of the city. The facilities are worth a visit. The only negative comment I would have that the walls weren’t sound proofed enough, understandable because the building is actually old.
