Request a corner suite on a high floor facing Fifth Avenue—the windows wrap the room in city light, and at dusk the view alone justifies the upgrade. Head to Salon de Ning before the after-work crowd descends, ideally around 5pm on a weekday, when you can claim one of the outdoor terrace seats and watch the skyline shift from gold to electric blue. Great hotel and the staff are very nice and kind. One thing I would change is the variety of food in the Penn top bar. Really bad. I think there is a lot of opportunity to change and improve the menu.
