I had a fantastic stay! The place was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and in a great location. Check-in was smooth and communication with the host was easy and prompt.

The front porch sets the tone before you even step inside. Built in the craftsman tradition, with its characteristic low-pitched roofline, tapered columns, and handsome woodwork, this three-bedroom Portland home carries the kind of architectural integrity that can't be replicated. The details are original where they matter and thoughtfully updated where they should be. Hardwood floors run throughout, natural light fills the main living spaces, and the overall feeling is one of a home that has been genuinely cared for rather than staged for effect.
Inside, the living and dining areas flow together with an openness that feels natural to the era's floor plan. The kitchen is equipped for real cooking, making it easy to settle in for longer stays or to prepare a meal with ingredients from one of Portland's many neighborhood markets. Three bedrooms offer comfortable sleeping arrangements for families or small groups, with enough separation to provide privacy without the formality of a hotel. The vintage character of the home is present in every room, from built-in shelving to period-appropriate fixtures, giving the space a warmth that feels earned rather than decorated.
Managed by Stay Portland, this craftsman sits in a well-connected neighborhood that puts the city's best within easy reach. Portland's renowned food scene, independent shops, parks, and cultural institutions are all accessible without the sense of being in the middle of everything. The location balances neighborhood calm with urban proximity, a quality that defines the best residential stays in this city.
What lingers after a stay here is the particular pleasure of living briefly in a home that belongs to its place. The pace slows. Coffee tastes better on a craftsman porch. Evenings settle in around you with the quiet satisfaction of a house that doesn't try to impress, because it doesn't need to.

There's a particular kind of comfort that comes from staying in a home that feels genuinely lived-in rather than staged—where the vintage bones of a Craftsman house hold space for modern ease without either quality crowding out the other. This Goose Hollow rental has that balance. The decor reads as thoughtful rather than themed, with a warmth that settles in quickly, especially across the three bedrooms where soft linens and muted tones do exactly what they should. What distinguishes it is the neighborhood proximity: Providence Park, Portland State, the coffee shops and bars that give Goose Hollow its low-key pulse are all walkable, making the front deck feel less like a porch and more like a quiet observation point on a neighborhood worth noticing. It's the kind of place that rewards a small group or family who wants Portland to feel close, not curated.

My whole family fell in love with this place, so close to everything. The perfect amount of amenities even more comfortable than some of the more pricier and newer homes we have stayed at, already missing this gem!

Great stay and close to the gardens.

Host was wonderful and very responsive to my questions. House was beautiful and had three large bedrooms upstairs. Location was wonderful and we were able to walk to coffee in the morning and drive everywhere we needed quickly (parking spot was a huge bonus). I would definitely stay here again!
