Exceptional property and perfect for a large group! The floor to ceiling windows are stunning. Hosts were super communicative and helpful both before and during our stay. We had a great time and look forward to staying here again.

The approach sets the tone before you even step inside. The Overlook by Fieldtrip is the kind of property that announces itself through proportion and positioning, a seven-bedroom residence perched at a vantage point that earns its name. Floor-to-ceiling glass draws the landscape inward, and the architecture feels deliberate in its openness, designed so that every communal space frames a version of the same sweeping view. This is a house built for gathering, for the kind of trip where the group is large enough to fill every room and the days unfold without a fixed agenda.
The infinity pool is the property's centerpiece, its edge dissolving into the scenery beyond. It anchors the outdoor living spaces, which are designed for long afternoons that stretch into evening without anyone suggesting a change of scene. Surrounding the pool, lounge areas and outdoor seating create pockets for conversation or solitude, depending on the hour. Inside, the living areas are generous and open, with a kitchen built for actual use, the kind of space where someone is always reaching for another bottle or assembling something on a cutting board while the rest of the house drifts in and out. The seven bedrooms offer enough separation that a full house never feels crowded, each providing its own sense of privacy within the larger communal framework.
Fieldtrip curates its properties with an eye toward design-forward homes that function as more than just places to sleep. The Overlook reflects that sensibility. Materials feel considered rather than decorative, and the furnishings strike a balance between comfort and intention. There is nothing fussy about the interiors, but nothing accidental either. The layout encourages a natural flow between indoor and outdoor living, and the common spaces are scaled for the kind of meals and evenings that define a trip in memory.
What stays with you is the rhythm the house creates. Mornings are slow, organized around coffee and the view. Afternoons belong to the pool and whatever loose plans the group has made. Evenings gather everyone back together around the kitchen island or the outdoor dining area, the sky shifting overhead. The Overlook is not a property that asks you to perform relaxation. It simply removes the barriers to it, offering seven bedrooms, one infinite edge, and the particular luxury of having nowhere else you need to be.

You feel it as a loosening — something about the way the architecture steps back and lets the Mojave do the talking. Seven bedrooms, floor-to-ceiling glass, and clean desert-modernist lines that frame the landscape rather than compete with it. The infinity pool dissolves into the San Bernardino Mountains like an unfinished sentence, and the silence out here isn't empty — it has texture, a low mineral hum that rewires your sense of time. This is a place built for gatherings that actually matter, where the communal spaces encourage easy proximity without forcing it. At this elevation, the night sky feels almost confrontational in its clarity, and by morning you realize the desert has quietly rearranged your priorities.

We decided to spend an iconic weekend here with our closest friends and it was the perfect destination. Up the hill from the house is a parking lot with a trail to hike, the view is to die for, and it has everything you could want to entertain a group: pool, hot tub, fire pit, grill, pool table/game room, TV, fully stocked large kitchen, large fridge, and more. I was happy to walk in the door upon arrival and sad to leave when the time finally came to lock up. Throughout the trip we were having minor issues with turning on and off the spa, but support was prompt and helpful. Highly recommend.

The Overlook and the Gatsby was perfect for our annual friend reunion. Plenty of space for everyone to fit comfortably and suited our group's needs well.
