Excellent home . Clean, modern and with incredible views. Great place to come back to after a long day.

The approach tells you everything. A private drive rises through the hillside of Terres Basses, one of St. Martin's most coveted residential enclaves, before arriving at a villa that feels less like a rental and more like a permanent address you've somehow always had. Eterne by Stay Awhile Villas sits elevated above the Caribbean, its architecture opening outward in a series of clean lines and generous terraces that frame Baie Longue and the sea beyond. The scale is immediate and unambiguous: this is a property designed around the view, with every room oriented to capture the water, the light, and the particular quality of stillness that arrives at this altitude.
The villa accommodates up to ten guests across five bedrooms, each with en-suite bathrooms and its own relationship to the surrounding landscape. The primary suite commands a privileged position with panoramic ocean views, while additional bedrooms are distributed across the property to offer privacy without isolation. Living spaces flow between indoors and out with the ease that defines the best Caribbean residential architecture. A fully equipped kitchen anchors the interior, opening to dining and lounge areas that extend onto broad terraces. The infinity pool stretches toward the horizon, its edge dissolving into the blue below, flanked by sun loungers and covered outdoor seating where afternoons tend to lose their structure entirely. A media room, air conditioning throughout, and dedicated parking complete a property that has been furnished and maintained to the standard of a private estate rather than a short-term let.
Terres Basses occupies the French side of St. Martin's southwestern peninsula, a quiet residential quarter where gated villas line the hillsides above some of the island's finest beaches. Baie Longue and Baie Rouge are minutes away, each offering the kind of undeveloped, windswept shoreline that has grown increasingly rare across the Caribbean. The restaurants and nightlife of Grand Case, the island's culinary capital, sit a short drive to the north, while Marigot's waterfront market and marina provide a more local rhythm. The dual-nation character of St. Martin means French and Dutch influences layer across cuisine, culture, and coastline, all accessible within a compact island geography.
What stays with you after Eterne is the proportion of it. The rooms are generous without excess. The pool catches the last light. The terrace holds conversation and silence with equal grace. Stay Awhile Villas has curated a property where the architecture serves the landscape rather than competing with it, and where the days adopt a rhythm that feels entirely your own. You wake to the sea. You return to it at dusk. The hours between belong to no one but you.

What strikes you first is the tension between proximity and retreat—you're on a private road in Beverly Hills, minutes from Rodeo Drive, yet the moment you cross the threshold, the city becomes something you observe rather than endure. Zoltan Pali's architecture does the heavy lifting here: clean lines, expansive glass, and a sense of proportion that makes the interiors feel both grand and deeply personal. The LA skyline isn't just a backdrop; those wide windows turn it into something you live alongside, shifting with the light. This is a villa that reads as someone's impeccably considered home rather than a rental playing dress-up—bespoke furnishings, art that actually holds your attention, bathrooms that feel like private ceremonies. It suits the kind of traveler who wants Beverly Hills on their own terms, at their own volume.

The host was super responsive and helpful in getting us settled in. The house itself was immaculate and the kitchen was a gourmet cook’s dream. Had every tool and utensil I needed to cook a massive Thanksgiving feast. The house is perched up on a hill, so every morning we got to see the most unbelievable sunrise over downtown LA. This will likely be a repeat visit for us when we’re in town. Highly recommend!!
