We had a great stay at Ian’s place. It was exactly as described. The kitchen had anything we’d looked for while we were there. Firepit outside was great and we used it each night.

There is a particular stillness that comes with elevation. The air is thinner, the light arrives differently, and the landscape unfolds in long, unbroken lines that pull the eye toward the horizon. Ridgeview earns its name honestly. This is a residence built around the view, a private retreat where floor-to-ceiling windows frame the surrounding ridgeline and the architecture seems designed to get out of the way of the scenery. From the moment you step inside, the outdoors feels less like a backdrop and more like a defining feature of every room.
The home itself is spacious and considered, with a layout that balances communal gathering with quiet retreat. The open-plan living and dining area anchors the experience, offering generous seating, a well-appointed kitchen, and direct sightlines to the surrounding terrain. Natural materials and a clean, contemporary palette keep the interiors grounded, letting the landscape do the heavy lifting. Bedrooms are positioned for privacy, each offering its own connection to the views outside. The overall feeling is one of warmth without clutter, a residence that has been furnished for comfort rather than display.
Outdoors, Ridgeview opens up further. The property's setting rewards those who simply want to sit and absorb the panorama, whether from a deck, a patio, or one of the outdoor seating areas that take advantage of the elevation. Mornings here have a particular clarity, and evenings settle in slowly as the light shifts across the hills. The surrounding area invites exploration on foot, with trails and open terrain offering a chance to move through the same landscape you've been watching from the windows.
What stays with you after a visit to Ridgeview is not one grand gesture but a cumulative sense of openness. The proportions of the home, the generosity of the views, the way the design lets you orient your day around natural light and shifting weather. It is the kind of place where you find yourself pausing at a window for no particular reason, coffee in hand, watching the ridgeline do what it has always done.

There's a particular kind of quiet that comes from being surrounded by treetops with no roofline interrupting the view, and this cabin sits right inside that feeling. The 2024 renovation strikes a balance that's harder than it looks — wooden textures and rustic bones paired with genuinely modern comfort, without either side winning too loudly. Three master suites each with their own spa-like bathroom means nobody's compromising, which changes the energy of a group trip entirely. The game nook with shuffleboard and Golden Tee feels like a deliberate choice to keep people together rather than retreating to separate corners. And the deck, with its wide-open panorama over the Berkeley Springs woodlands, becomes the room you return to again and again. This is a place designed for people who want to disappear for a few days without giving up the things that make disappearing actually enjoyable.

We had an amazing stay at this cabin over the weekend with 9 guests! It was much bigger than we expected with a beautiful, rustic woodsy vibe that made it feel like a true getaway. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and each bedroom had its own private deck—such a nice touch! The kitchen was perfect for cooking, and the location was ideal, just 10 minutes away from Berkeley Springs.
There’s plenty of parking space, and the cabin is very secluded. We especially loved the main deck with the relaxing hot tub and gas fire pit—perfect for unwinding after a day of exploring. The movie room in the top loft area was also a fun, unique place for hanging out!
The hosts were fantastic—super responsive and helpful throughout our stay. If I ever return, this cabin would definitely be my first choice! Highly recommend to anyone looking for a cozy, well-located retreat.
