A very nice and quiet place to disconnect from the routine.<br/>We enjoyed the jacuzzi and nature.

Maple Hill Lodge announces itself the way the best retreats do: not with grandeur, but with a sense of arrival that feels immediately, unmistakably right. The lodge sits among mature trees, its architecture rooted in natural materials and generous proportions that invite you to settle in rather than simply check in. Wood and stone set the tone throughout, and the layout favors togetherness, with open living spaces designed for the kind of slow, unstructured hours that rarely find their way into everyday life.
Inside, the lodge delivers a sense of warmth that goes beyond aesthetics. The living area is spacious and well-appointed, with comfortable seating arranged around a central gathering point that encourages conversation or quiet reading in equal measure. The kitchen is fully equipped for group meals, offering the freedom to cook together without compromise on workspace or tools. Bedrooms are generous and thoughtfully furnished, balancing rustic character with genuine comfort. Throughout the interiors, natural light filters in through large windows, drawing your eye outward to the surrounding canopy and grounding each room in its wooded setting.
But the heart of Maple Hill Lodge lives outdoors. The fire pit area is a destination unto itself, a carefully designed gathering space where flames rise against the tree line and evenings take on a slower, more deliberate quality. Pull chairs close, let the wood smoke drift, and watch the sky open up overhead. Steps away, the hot tub offers a different kind of stillness, set among the trees with enough privacy to feel restorative rather than performative. Together, these outdoor spaces define the lodge's personality: social when you want it, solitary when you don't.
What stays with you after a stay here is the rhythm the property creates. Mornings are unhurried. Afternoons drift between the deck and the kitchen. Evenings belong to the fire pit, where the glow against the surrounding woods compresses the world down to just the people and the place. Maple Hill Lodge doesn't try to be everything. It simply provides the architecture, the landscape, and the quiet infrastructure for the kind of time together that feels increasingly rare.

There's a particular kind of quiet here that feels earned — not the manufactured stillness of a spa retreat, but the honest hush of Pennsylvania woodland doing what it's always done. Maple Hill Lodge sits in the rolling landscape near Spring Mills with a confidence that doesn't need to announce itself: the wide porch framing misty hills, the hot tub on the deck where the only company might be passing wildlife, the fire pit that becomes the evening's natural gathering point. It's a place built for people who find luxury in the absence of noise rather than the addition of polish. Penn's Creek, just two miles out, adds a quiet pull for anyone drawn to water, but you could just as easily never leave the property and feel like you'd been somewhere. The kind of stay that lingers not because anything dramatic happened, but because nothing needed to.

Our out of state children flew in for a wedding with their spouses and we all stayed at this location. All were impressed with the scenery and the cleanliness and condition of the property. We loved the privacy and felt very at home. Would highly recommend!

Great rental that is secluded but also not very far from Penn State (about 25-30 minutes).

We had a wonderful stay at the Lodge! It was easy to get to, and was a beautiful, bright and clean home. We appreciated the well stocked kitchen, and the cozy fireplace to take away the morning chill. There were lots of books, games and toys, although we didn't take advantage of them. We had great weather for sitting outside and observing the deer and birds from the deck, and enjoying the hot tub and fire pit in the evening. We also attended the Penn State game and found it a very manageable (27 minute ) trip. We hope to return again for our 2025 family PSU trip !

Cozy, private house tucked into the woods. More than enough space for our family of four. The boys loved the large TV, stuffed bobcat, and extra toys and books. It was great to have access to the deck area, hot tub, and fire pit. Keurig machine stocked with K-cups kept us caffeinated and ready to go! Appliances were updated and clean, and we appreciated being able to do a load of laundry down in the basement. Very minor downsides (not enough to warrant less than 5 stars overall): main entry door was a bit finicky to lock and unlock; there were a number of ladybugs inside the house (could be a seasonal thing?); linens and towels were worn and could use replacing; only the one TV in the main living area. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would stay again!
