Beautiful house and casita immaculately presented. Every room is very well appointed, strong design influences, cool games room, expansive views, amazing place to entertain and hang out with friends and family!

The approach is unhurried, the landscape wide open. The Maya by Fieldtrip sits low against the desert, its clean architectural lines and warm materials reading as both contemporary and deeply rooted in the terrain. This is a modern residence designed for the kind of stay where the hours stretch longer than expected, where mornings begin poolside and afternoons dissolve into golden light. The aesthetic is deliberate but never cold: concrete and natural wood, open sightlines, and an interior palette that draws from the surrounding earth tones rather than competing with them.
The layout favors openness and flow. Living spaces are generous and sunlit, with large windows that pull the desert landscape inside. The kitchen is fully equipped for guests who prefer to cook at their own pace, and the dining area extends naturally into the broader living space. Bedrooms are thoughtfully appointed, balancing comfort with a spare, gallery-like calm. Throughout the home, the design sensibility leans toward mid-century modernism softened by organic textures, creating rooms that feel composed without being overly styled.
The pool is the property's social and spiritual center. Set against open sky and framed by the home's angular architecture, it offers the kind of effortless desert scene that invites long afternoons with nowhere particular to be. Lounging areas surround the water, and the outdoor spaces are designed for gathering as much as for solitude. As the sun drops, the pool deck transforms into an ideal setting for evening drinks and the sort of quiet conversation that desert air seems to encourage.
Fieldtrip's approach to hospitality is rooted in design-forward vacation rentals that feel personal rather than programmatic. The Maya reflects that ethos clearly. There are no front desks, no lobbies, no concierge scripts. Instead, there is a thoughtfully curated home that trusts its guests to settle into the rhythm of the place. The desert sets the tempo here: slow, warm, expansive. What stays with you is not a single detail but the overall sensation of days lived simply in a space built with real intention.

There's a particular quality to a space that feels sculpted from its surroundings rather than placed onto them, and The Maya by Fieldtrip has that quality in full. The smooth concrete, warm wood, and hand-selected furnishings carry an almost geological calm — nothing performing, everything earned. What gets you, though, is the silence. Not emptiness, but a richness of quiet that makes the smallest sounds — wind through scrub, water against tile — feel like events worth attending. The pool against all that heat reads less as amenity and more as quiet defiance. It's a place for people who understand that being still somewhere extraordinary is its own form of doing something.

This is a beautiful house nestled up near the rocks and hills. If I had one thing to say is the oven and dishwasher were not the greatest. If you like to cook this stove was difficult to use. the knobs are hard to see and some of the burners are either on full or nothing. The dishwasher was hard to load. Not a dealbreaker just a heads up if you are a chef or foodie and really like to cook. The grounds are gorgeous and the there is a beautiful view from all the rooms. Also be aware that some of the windows do not have blinds or curtains in the bedrooms so bring an eye cover if light wakes you up in the morning or you like to sleep in. Other than the above comments it was a great trip and highly recommend staying here. The Fieldtrip hosts were always responsive and helpful.

Beautiful place! The pool was amazing and the views were incredible. The beds were very comfortable. Everything was spotless clean. Absolutely loved the lights in the game room.

We enjoyed our stay in 29 palms. The house was beautiful and the amenities were great. We were very close to Joshua tree with lots to do in the area. You are also only about an hour from Palm Springs. We enjoy both exploring the surrounding towns and relaxing at the Airbnb.
