Amazing place to chill and enjoy friends / family. All we talked about was wanting to come back!

The approach tells you this is not a typical vacation rental. Casa Azzurra announces itself through clean angles, saturated color, and a deliberate dialogue between built form and open landscape. The architecture is confident and contemporary, with strong geometric lines softened by warm materials and an expansive sense of light. Walls of glass dissolve the boundary between interior and exterior, pulling the surrounding terrain into every room. The palette leans into its namesake blue alongside sun-bleached neutrals, creating spaces that feel both striking and calm.
Inside, the residence unfolds with the proportions and finish of a design-forward home rather than a decorated rental. Living areas are generous and open-plan, designed for gathering without formality. The kitchen is built for real use, outfitted for guests who want to cook together as much as dine out. Bedrooms are arranged to balance togetherness with privacy, each finished with the same architectural intention as the public spaces. Natural light moves through the home throughout the day, shifting the character of each room as the hours pass.
Outdoors, Casa Azzurra extends its footprint with purpose. A private pickleball court sits on the property, a genuinely uncommon amenity that speaks to the home's personality: playful, active, and designed for groups who want more from a retreat than a pool and a view. There is space to lounge, to gather around an outdoor table as evening settles, and to move between sun and shade with ease. The grounds feel considered rather than sprawling, every element placed with the same care as the interiors.
What stays with you is the rhythm the house encourages. Mornings are slow and sun-filled. Afternoons drift between the court, the kitchen, and the long stretch of daylight that pours across the living spaces. Evenings pull everyone back together. Casa Azzurra is a home built for people who care about architecture, who want their surroundings to feel intentional, and who understand that the best trips are shaped as much by the space you share as the place you visit.

It's the tension that gets you — Italian limewash blue against all that ancient, sun-bleached desert, curved archways softening what could easily have been another angular modernist box. Casa Azzurra feels like someone's deeply personal vision of how to live in a landscape this vast and quiet, not a design exercise but an actual point of view. The blue exterior shifting tone throughout the day is one of those details that sounds like a gimmick until you watch it happen, and then it just feels inevitable, like the house is breathing with the sky. Ten acres gives you the kind of solitude where the desert sounds — wind, distance, silence — become the real architecture of your stay. It's a place that rewards people who know what to do with emptiness.

Our stay at Casa Azzurra was amazing! The pool and pickleball court were total highlights, we didn’t even have to leave to have fun and enjoy stay. The house itself is stunning: light, bright, and full of color, with beautiful skylights in every room that made the entire space feel so open and inviting. Every detail in the interior design felt so intentional, from the vibrant decor to the thoughtful layout. You can tell a lot of care went into curating this space. It was perfect for our group of friends to catch up. Fieldtrip was an incredible host also, super responsive and made everything seamless from check-in to check-out. We can’t wait to come back next year!

This place is groovy (literally). Everything, from the architecture to the interior to cleanliness, exceeded my expectations.
I rented this place to escape and be off the grid for a few days. Loved feeling like we were the only people there. The stargazing was 10/10 and its completely private.
I will definitely be booking with Fieldtrip again, and bringing my friends.
Thank you!

Stunning architectural home in a remote and secluded part of Joshua Tree. It has everything you need and feels like a high-end retreat (covered pool, huge walk-in showers, pickleball courts, LED lights in the ceiling, surround sound). There is even a disconnected casita for ultimate privacy. I chatted directly with the concierge / hosting service and they were quick to respond to anything we needed. Recommend for a unique and luxurious stay in the desert!
