The host was very accommodating. Allowed us to drop off our bags before check in. Garrett was very communicative and always promptly responded. Thank you!

There is a particular kind of ease that comes with staying in a home rather than a hotel, and this four-bedroom Portland residence delivers exactly that. Listed through Stay Portland, the property sleeps eight comfortably, arranged across generous living spaces designed to keep groups and families connected without feeling crowded. The layout favors togetherness in the common areas while offering enough separation in the bedrooms for privacy at the end of a long day exploring the city.
The residence functions as a true home base. A full kitchen anchors the shared living space, giving guests the freedom to cook meals together, spread out over morning coffee, or simply gather around the counter the way people naturally do. The living areas are furnished for comfort rather than display, with enough seating and surface area to accommodate the rhythms of a group traveling together. Whether you are coordinating daily plans over breakfast or unwinding after dinner, the proportions of the space feel right for the number of people it hosts.
Portland itself serves as the broader canvas. The city's neighborhoods reward wandering, from independent coffee roasters and bookshops to food carts and green spaces that shift character block by block. Having a full residence to return to changes the way you experience a destination. Groceries from a local market become part of the trip. A late night on the couch with everyone together becomes as memorable as any restaurant. The freedom to set your own schedule, eat when you want, and spread out across a real home is what makes a group trip feel unhurried.
This Stay Portland property is not about luxury in the traditional sense. It is about space, proximity, and the simple pleasure of sharing a well-appointed home with the people you traveled to be with. Eight guests, four bedrooms, one kitchen table. The math is simple, and so is the feeling it leaves behind.

What gets you here isn't the polish—it's the tension between a home that feels genuinely lived-in and one that's been thoughtfully elevated. Original architectural details sit alongside modern renovations without either one trying to win, and that restraint gives the whole place a quiet confidence. The fireplace in the living room isn't decorative staging; it anchors the kind of evening where nobody checks the time. You cook with market ingredients in a kitchen that actually works, sit eight around a table that encourages the meal to stretch long. And then there's the Hollywood District itself, walkable in that rare, genuine way where you're not driving to reach the neighborhood—you're already in it. This is a property for the group that wants Portland to feel less like a visit and more like a week borrowed from someone else's very good life.

House was very cute, and had all the amenities necessary for our stay.

Garrett’s place was just right for a busy work trip with colleagues. Great location in the Hollywood neighborhood, walkable to grocery stores as well as quieter streets. The beds were super comfortable, and the living room was a nice space for visiting. Garrett was a really responsive and attentive host throughout our stay. I appreciate the easy check in and check out. For the sound-sensitive, the house is located on a busy street so there is the white noise of traffic, even at night. It’s an old house so floorboards squeak and the wood and paint looks quite a bit darker than the photos, especially since we were there just at night and not during the day. It looks like the house is in the process of being upgraded. It had basic essential furnishings and the bathrooms are beautifully remodeled. I would recommend repairs like fixing light switches in the living room and adding towel racks in the upstairs bathroom. This stay was just right for our group. Thank you for hosting!

Would agree with reviewers…
Cons: busy street ( not a neighborhood vibe) a bit worn with pealing paint and weathered, uneven front stairs without a railing, no toaster, not enough chairs for the dining table ( if you can rent for 8 there should be chairs for 8…maybe a couple of folding chairs), bathroom floor around the tub is dirty
Pros: good space in bedrooms, bathrooms and living space, generally clean, spices and coffee provided, beds are comfortable, nice tv, plenty of plates and cups
All in all a fine visit…but we paid over $500 for one night ( with taxes and fees ) and didn’t think it was worth the money. Part of it was our problem because we booked only a few days before our visit on Black Friday…so maybe we should have planned ahead.
