Wonderful stay over the Thanksgiving holiday!

There is a particular warmth to a Craftsman home that no other architecture quite replicates. The tapered columns, the deep eaves, the woodwork that was built to be noticed. This two-bedroom, two-bathroom residence in Portland carries that character with ease, offering a stay grounded in the honest details of early twentieth-century design and the comfort of a home that has been thoughtfully prepared for guests.
The interior balances original architectural charm with the practical needs of a short-term stay. Two bedrooms provide space and privacy, each paired with its own full bathroom. The layout encourages the kind of slow, unstructured time that a hotel rarely allows. A full kitchen invites morning coffee on your own terms. Living areas feel genuinely livable, furnished with an eye toward comfort rather than staging. The classic proportions of a Craftsman floor plan, with its defined rooms and natural flow, give the space a sense of order without rigidity. You settle in quickly here, and the rhythm of the house becomes your own.
Portland itself is the kind of city that rewards exploration at a walking pace. The neighborhoods surrounding this home offer their own texture, from independent coffee shops and bakeries to bookstores and the sort of small, chef-driven restaurants that thrive in a city with Portland's culinary reputation. Whether you are here for a long weekend or an extended visit, the residence serves as a quiet base from which to engage with the city on your own schedule, returning each evening to a home that feels personal rather than transactional.
What stays with you after a visit to this Classic Craftsman Stay is the simplicity of it. No lobby, no keycard, no turndown service. Just a well-made home in a city that values the handcrafted, the local, and the real. The porch light is on. The door is yours.

There's a particular warmth to a Craftsman home that's been cared for rather than merely renovated — where original woodwork still anchors every room and modern touches feel earned, not imposed. This place has that quality. It sits in Laurelhurst with a quiet confidence, absorbing the neighborhood's creative, slightly offbeat energy without trying to perform it. The furniture feels considered, the light generous, and there's an artisanal sensibility woven through the details that mirrors the streets just outside. You're steps from the kind of Portland dining and drinking that rewards wandering — farm-to-table mornings, craft beer evenings — but the house itself never feels like a stopover. It's the kind of stay where you return at the end of the day genuinely glad to be back inside, settling into something that feels less like accommodation and more like borrowed belonging.

This beautiful home is in a pretty quiet neighborhood, but within walking distance to a number of excellent restaurants and the Brassworks Art Gallery. The home is well cared for, and had everything we needed. The beds were comfortable, and there was plenty of closet space. We hope to return here next time we visit Portland!

Aaron was a great host! He communicated very clearly and has provided clear instructions of getting in the AirBnb. The place that I booked had all the amenities that we needed and a lot of space. The bathrooms were very clean and spotless. I hope to book the Airbnb again for future visits for work/fun.
