It was a fine place and fit our needs. Only negative was you can really hear the people above

There is a particular pleasure in arriving somewhere that feels immediately livable. Modern Studio, managed by Stay Portland, is a compact, design-conscious residence in Portland's Northeast neighborhood, where the ease of a well-considered space meets the energy of one of the city's most walkable and culturally rich districts. The studio is configured to sleep up to four guests, making it a practical base for couples, small families, or friends exploring the city together. Clean lines, contemporary furnishings, and a thoughtful layout give the space a sense of openness that belies its footprint.
The studio delivers what matters most in an urban short-term stay: a fully equipped kitchen for mornings spent making coffee on your own terms, comfortable sleeping arrangements, and the kind of uncluttered design that lets you settle in without friction. Everything here has been chosen with function and simplicity in mind. There are no unnecessary flourishes, just a well-maintained, modern space that respects your time and your independence. It is the kind of residence where you drop your bags and feel immediately oriented.
Northeast Portland provides the context that makes a stay here worthwhile. The neighborhood is home to some of the city's most beloved independent restaurants, coffee roasters, breweries, and boutiques. Tree-lined streets give way to pockets of creative commerce and community gathering spots that feel genuinely local rather than curated for visitors. The area's residential character means quieter evenings and a slower morning pace, while still keeping you within easy reach of downtown, the Alberta Arts District, and the broader constellation of Portland's distinct neighborhoods.
Modern Studio offers something that larger hotels rarely can: the feeling of living somewhere rather than staying somewhere. You cook when you want, leave when you want, and return to a space that asks nothing of you except to be comfortable. It is Portland at its most approachable, framed by four well-considered walls.

What strikes you first is the quiet confidence of the space — a brand-new studio that doesn't try to shout over Portland's North neighborhoods but instead lets them in through large windows and a clean, contemporary design sensibility. It sits in that charged triangle between Williams, Mississippi, and Alberta, streets that reward wandering with unexpected galleries, neighborhood markets, and the kind of coffee shops where the barista actually cares. The studio itself feels like someone with good taste designed a place they'd actually want to stay in: sleek without being cold, finished with real attention rather than just ambition. There's a fully equipped kitchen that quietly invites you to bring the farmers' market home. It's a property that understands Portland isn't a backdrop — it's the whole point.

My friend and I really love Aaron’s place! The design of the home is very unique, and Aaron is always responsive and easy to communicate with. We’ll definitely choose his listing again next time!

lovely hosts and an exceptional place to stay. even with being on a busy road, it felt private and safe.

Clean and nice little spot. Not a ton of privacy if you’re sharing the space and the street traffic is a bit noisy but there are sound machines and i didn’t mind. Stayed here with two friends and it was great - would stay again. 15 min walk to lots of bars/restraunts.
