Long Island stretches thin and unhurried through the southern Bahamas, a place where the Atlantic meets the Caribbean in a collision of impossible blues. Island Time sits along this slender coastline, a private residential retreat that trades the polish of Nassau for something rarer: uninterrupted quiet, direct ocean access, and the feeling that the rest of the archipelago exists somewhere far away. The property opens to the water with the ease of a home built by someone who understood exactly why you come to a place like this.
Island Time offers a fully appointed vacation residence designed for small groups and families seeking genuine seclusion without sacrificing comfort. The layout is spacious and open, with living areas that flow naturally toward outdoor terraces and the coastline beyond. Bedrooms are configured to accommodate multiple guests, each finished with clean, comfortable furnishings that favor function and island warmth over unnecessary formality. A full kitchen anchors the home, giving guests the freedom to cook with local seafood or simply settle into the unhurried rhythm of preparing meals at their own pace. Outdoor living space is generous, with direct views of the water and room to gather under open sky as the light shifts through the afternoon.
The surrounding stretch of Long Island is one of the least developed in the Bahamas, known for Dean's Blue Hole, one of the deepest marine sinkholes on earth, and for beaches that remain largely empty even at the height of the season. The island's character is shaped by small settlements, local fish fries, and a pace that resists acceleration. Snorkeling, bonefishing, and diving are accessible nearby, and the coastline itself invites long, aimless walks where the only company is the tide. This is not a destination built around resort infrastructure. It is a place where the landscape does the work.
Staying at Island Time is less about what has been arranged for you and more about what has been left alone. The mornings are yours. The water is steps away. The silence is deliberate and complete. It is the kind of place where a week passes and you realize you never once looked at the time.

What strikes you first is the scale of the quiet — two kilometers of white sand on a Bahamian out-island, with almost no one else on it. Island Time doesn't try to impress you with spectacle; it impresses you with absence. The interiors pull from the sea's own palette, and those ten-foot sliding glass doors in four of the bedrooms don't just frame the ocean — they dissolve the boundary between room and shore entirely. It's the kind of place where the architecture defers to the landscape, where the luxury is really just proximity to something untouched. The northwest-facing beach keeps the water calm and impossibly clear, which gives the days a particular stillness that's hard to manufacture. This is a house for people who already know what they want from a trip: less noise, more sky, and the rare sensation that time has genuinely slowed.

Beautiful. Down to about 2400 people right now, from a high of 4000, so while a lot of things are closed the island remains vibrant and is a great place to relax and find your center.

A unique Bahamian island, with practically one road that takes you all the way from one side of the island to the other, and less than 3000 people who live on the island. It makes for the perfect place to immerse yourself in nothing but pristine turquoise waters, tropical weather and local bars. *Highlight* There is an incredible bar in Gordon’s Settlement on the beach, with views and an insanely fresh Grouper on the menu. 🌴Rent a car through Percy. 🌴Stay in an Airbnb on Galliot Cay. 🌴Have a drink at Gordon’s bar. 🌴Get a fast PCR test for $15 pp at Simms settlement medical clinic 🌴 Dive in Deans Blue Hole 🌴Watch the sunset from pretty much anywhere along the island

Probably one of the nicest beaches I have ever been to. The sand is like flower and the water is crystal clear and the perfect temperature.

A wonderful month spent in the anchorage. The island was hard hit by the hurricane and yet the people stay positive and happy with their lives.
