The most beautifully well thought out design of a place!! So peaceful and private. We really enjoyed all of Landon’s local recommendations. Clean and cozy little gem!

The approach tells you this isn't a typical getaway. Green Creek Shipyard draws its name and its character from a property steeped in rural texture, where weathered structures sit alongside a private pond and the surrounding landscape opens in every direction. There is a rawness to the setting that feels intentional, a place designed not for polish but for presence. The aesthetic leans into its heritage with honest materials and an unhurried sense of place, offering something closer to a pastoral compound than a conventional vacation rental.
The property is built around outdoor living. A hot tub provides a focal point for unwinding after long days spent exploring or doing nothing at all. A fire pit area draws guests out as evening settles, the kind of space where conversations stretch past sunset without anyone checking the time. The pond adds a layer of quiet theater to the grounds, reflecting sky and treeline and anchoring the property in its natural surroundings. Together, these elements create a rhythm that moves between gentle activity and genuine stillness, with enough room to spread out and settle in.
Inside, the residence carries a warm, grounded sensibility. The interiors are comfortable and functional, designed to support the kind of stay where mornings are slow and evenings are spent outdoors. Green Creek Shipyard operates as a self-contained retreat, the sort of place where you stock the kitchen before arriving and cook meals at your own pace, where the absence of a concierge or front desk feels like a feature rather than a limitation. The property rewards guests who want to set their own schedule and find their own tempo.
What stays with you is the particular quality of space here. Not emptiness, but openness. The pond catches morning light, the fire pit holds the last warmth of the day, and the hot tub becomes a place of quiet ritual under wide skies. Green Creek Shipyard doesn't perform hospitality. It simply gives you the room and the raw materials to craft something unhurried and entirely your own.

There's something quietly radical about a home built from shipping containers that doesn't feel like a statement piece—it just feels like itself. Green Creek Shipyard has that rare quality: industrial bones softened by real warmth, where bold design choices settle comfortably into the wooded North Carolina landscape rather than competing with it. The sibling creators clearly share a vision that prizes texture and intention over flash. You feel it in the coffee bar stocked with a Chemex and pour-over setup, in the deck that stretches a generous 26 feet over a private pond, in the way outdoor spaces—hot tub, fire pit, grill—are arranged not as amenities but as rooms without walls. It's a place built for people who want both solitude and togetherness, where the evening naturally drifts from the deck to the fire pit without anyone needing to orchestrate it. What stays with you is how the container architecture, something so inherently utilitarian, becomes the framework for something genuinely intimate.

The shipping container turned AirBNB is such a creative and fun idea. Turned a box into a fun destination. The bed was super comfortable, coffee was delicious, and location was beautifully peaceful and private. Great launchpad for kayaking and hiking activities over our stay. Landon was very responsive with local restaurant recommendations and questions about the amenities. <br/>Next time I want to try 2.0!!!
