Great location, walkable to restaurants and bars. Clean unit. All appliances are upgraded. Unit itself is bit older but well maintained.

There is a particular kind of urban dwelling that feels neither like a hotel nor quite like someone else's home. The Garden Bungalow on Broadway belongs to that rare category: a standalone residence set along one of Portland's most walkable corridors, where the threshold between private retreat and vibrant city life is measured in a few easy steps. The bungalow's character announces itself before you reach the front door. A lush garden surrounds the property, offering a green buffer from the streetscape and lending the arrival a sense of stepping into something quieter, more considered. The architecture is classic Portland bungalow, compact and full of character, with the kind of period details that newer builds rarely replicate.
Inside, the space is designed for comfort without pretension. The layout is intuitive: a living area that invites settling in, a kitchen equipped for real cooking rather than decorative purposes, and sleeping quarters that feel restful and unhurried. Natural light moves through the rooms with the shifting hours, and the overall atmosphere is one of warmth and ease. This is a residence that rewards a slower pace, where mornings unfold over coffee made in your own kitchen and evenings wind down on your own terms. The furnishings strike a balance between lived-in charm and thoughtful curation, creating a space that feels personal without being precious.
What sets this property apart is its relationship to the surrounding neighborhood. A WalkScore of 94 is not just a number; it translates into a daily rhythm defined by proximity. Restaurants, cafés, shops, and cultural destinations are reachable on foot, making a car feel almost unnecessary. Broadway itself pulses with the energy of a Portland corridor that has matured into something genuinely interesting, where independent businesses and neighborhood institutions sit comfortably alongside one another. The bungalow's location means you are not visiting Portland from a distance. You are living inside it.
The Garden Bungalow on Broadway is managed by Stay Portland, and the experience reflects that local sensibility. This is not a property that tries to impress with scale or spectacle. Its appeal is simpler and, in many ways, more lasting: a well-kept home in a walkable neighborhood, wrapped in garden greenery, offering the kind of independence and rootedness that no lobby or concierge desk can quite replicate. You leave with the feeling of having actually lived somewhere, even if only for a few days.

There's a particular quality to a home that's been restored with real affection rather than just renovated — you feel it in the way original hardwood floors meet high ceilings, in the way the light moves through rooms that were built to hold it. This bungalow in Portland's Irvington neighborhood carries that quiet confidence, a place where historic bones and modern sensibility coexist without either one trying too hard. The color palette nods to Oregon's green landscapes, and the private garden offers the kind of unhurried outdoor space that makes a city stay feel grounded. With a near-perfect WalkScore, you're steps from the independent shops and neighborhood cafes that give Irvington its character — yet the bungalow itself never feels like a launching pad. It feels like a destination.

Second time staying here and just as great as the first time. Clean, comfortable, and great walkability to coffee, shops, food, etc. Looking forward to coming back!

The airbnb was as expected and 1 mile from the convention center, making it an affordable option to use when I attended a meeting held there this past week. Homelessness is still visible in Portland, but I never felt unsafe or uneasy walking between the airbnb or convention center either in the mornings or at night. The host was extremely communicative. For the most part, my stay was very quiet and I appreciated the home very much. The unit above me was only loud on my final night there (Sat), but other than some minor noise inconvenience at odd hours that one evening, everything was great.
