Amazing place, comfortable, impecable, really nice stay.

The road narrows before the trees close in, and by the time you reach Lazy Bass Lodge, the only sound that matters is the river. Set directly on the banks of the Coosawattee River in Ellijay, Georgia, this three-bedroom, two-bathroom cabin sits at the intersection of mountain stillness and genuine comfort. The construction is classic North Georgia timber and stone, with wide windows oriented toward the water and a wraparound deck that places you just above the current. It is not a grand estate or a polished resort. It is something better suited to this landscape: a lodge built for long mornings, unhurried afternoons, and evenings that end under open sky.
The interior is warm and uncomplicated. Vaulted ceilings with exposed wood beams frame an open living area anchored by a stone fireplace. The kitchen is fully equipped for real cooking, not an afterthought, and the dining space opens naturally into the main gathering room. Bedrooms are spread across the layout to offer privacy, with a king suite serving as the primary retreat. Throughout, the finishes feel intentional without veering into decoration for its own sake. This is a home designed around how people actually want to spend time together in the mountains.
Outside is where Lazy Bass Lodge becomes difficult to leave. The hot tub sits on the deck overlooking the river, and the firepit area below draws groups down to the water's edge as the evening settles. River access is direct and immediate. You can fish from the bank, wade into the shallows, or simply sit and watch the Coosawattee move. For those inclined toward more structured adventure, Ellijay offers apple orchards, hiking trails, and a small-town downtown with local shops and dining. The property's location puts you close enough to reach it all without ever feeling like you've left the quiet behind.
What stays with you after a few days at Lazy Bass Lodge is the particular rhythm the river sets. Mornings are slow. Coffee tastes different when you can hear the water from the deck. Conversations stretch longer around the firepit. The hours lose their hard edges, and by the time you leave, you realize the lodge didn't offer you an escape so much as a return to a pace you'd forgotten was possible.

There's a particular quality to a place that sits right on a river — time doesn't stop exactly, but it loosens its grip. Lazy Bass Lodge leans into that feeling without overthinking it. Five bedrooms, a sun room that fills with natural light, a deck that puts you close enough to the water to hear it clearly — it's scaled for a group but never feels cavernous. The game room with its pool table and the hot tub out under open sky give the place a generous, unhurried personality, like a house that actually wants people in it. What lingers is the sense that this riverfront lodge in Lewistown doesn't try to be anything beyond what it is: a warm, well-considered place where the outdoors does most of the talking and the rooms simply make you want to stay longer.

This is a very nice location. Love that wood is provided for a campfire. The “jacuzzi “ was a bit misleading because we first thought there was a hot tub. We did not realize that there was no TV until we arrived. Thankfully family was coming later so they brought one. I am not a TV watcher but it was college basketball weekend and what the family wanted to do. It worked out to bring our own. Overall we had a great get away .

Rated lower on the price as I think the fees are way too high. Otherwise a good nightly rate or the place.
