Great location and Jordan communicated great whenever I had questions.

There is a particular kind of house that changes the way a group travels together. Not a collection of hotel rooms connected by hallways, but a single, generous residence where fourteen people can share mornings around the same table and scatter through the neighborhood by afternoon. This Massive 7BR property in Portland's Nob Hill district is that kind of place: a sprawling home designed to hold a full party without anyone feeling crowded, set in one of the city's most walkable and characterful neighborhoods.
Seven bedrooms spread across the residence, offering enough space and separation for families, friend groups, or multi-generational gatherings to find their own rhythm. The layout favors togetherness without sacrificing privacy. Shared living areas anchor the home, providing the kind of communal space that hotels rarely replicate: a real kitchen for cooking together, living rooms where the group can reconvene at the end of the day, and the easy domestic architecture that makes a long stay feel less like a trip and more like borrowed life in a new city. The scale is the defining feature here. This is not a cozy cottage or a stylish apartment. It is a full residence with the square footage and bedroom count to accommodate fourteen guests comfortably, making it particularly well suited for reunions, celebrations, or extended family travel where splitting into multiple rentals fractures the experience.
The location does much of the work. NW 23rd Avenue is Portland's signature retail and dining corridor, a tree-lined street dense with independent boutiques, coffee shops, restaurants, and bars that stretches through the heart of Nob Hill. Stepping outside puts you immediately into the texture of the neighborhood, where weekend mornings unfold on cafe patios and evenings drift between wine bars and locally owned restaurants. The surrounding blocks of Nob Hill are defined by historic residential architecture, mature trees, and a walkability that makes a car feel optional for most of your stay. Forest Park, one of the largest urban forests in the country, sits within reach to the west, offering trails that climb through old-growth canopy just minutes from the neighborhood's commercial stretch.
What stays with you is the rare simplicity of it: a home large enough that no one compromises, in a neighborhood interesting enough that no one gets restless, with the kind of shared spaces that turn a group trip into something more memorable than a string of adjacent hotel rooms.

There's something about a house that was built for spectacle and then quietly settled into being a home — it holds weight differently. This Nob Hill residence carries its World's Fair-era bones with real dignity: the high ceilings, the original moldings, the hardwood floors that have clearly seen generations pass through. But it doesn't feel like a museum. Seven bedrooms give a large group room to scatter and regroup, and the chef's kitchen feels like the natural center of gravity — the kind of space where someone's always lingering with a coffee or a glass of something. What stays with you is the proximity to NW 23rd and how effortlessly the house connects you to Portland's most walkable stretch, yet behind the front porch, everything slows down just enough to feel like yours.

Location is very central with lots of restaurants and shops within walking distance. There’s only paid street parking but it’s free after 7pm and overnight. There are 7 bedrooms but bear in mind that the house is made up of two separate units (upper and lower) with no access between the units from the inside. This may or may not be a good thing for your party depends on how much you like everyone. Would’ve preferred that we didn’t have to go outside to get to the other unit as it did take away from the staying together experience but it was acceptable since there aren’t a lot of options that had 7 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. The upstairs unit had 4 bathrooms and looks to be the original early 1900’s construction but in great shape. Heating in the living room didn’t work so well and got chilly in the evening. There was a gas fire place but I don’t think it was for guest use as the gas line was disconnected. The downstairs unit has 3 bedrooms and recently renovated but very tight.

I booked this AirBnB for 7 coworkers to stay at during a team offsite. This spot was great for a bigger group - everyone had their own room, was comfortable, and appreciated the walkable location. We'd book this spot again.
