Our stay at Drew’s place was good. Easy to find, not far from downtown Waco but still far enough away to enjoy the stars at night!

The approach is quiet, deliberate, and unhurried. The Tui at Nicole Creek Cabins sits nestled among native bush, where the sound of running water and the calls of native birds replace the rhythms of the everyday. This is a standalone cabin designed for intimacy and stillness, a place where the landscape does most of the talking and the architecture simply knows when to listen.
The cabin itself is thoughtfully appointed for two, balancing rustic warmth with modern comfort. Clean lines and natural materials give the interior a sense of calm, while generous windows draw the surrounding greenery inside. A well-equipped kitchen allows you to cook at your own pace, and the living space opens naturally toward the outdoors, where the creek and the bush become extensions of the room. The bed is positioned to make mornings feel earned, light filtering softly through the trees. A bathroom with modern fixtures provides everything you need without excess. It is the kind of space that encourages you to slow down, to read a chapter longer, to let the coffee cool while you watch the light shift across the canopy.
Outside, the property's grounds reward those willing to explore on foot. Walking paths wind through the bush, and the creek itself offers a gentle, constant soundtrack that anchors the days. Birdlife is abundant here, and the cabin's namesake, the tui, is among the most charismatic visitors. Time at The Tui tends to organize itself around simple pleasures: morning walks, afternoon stillness, evenings spent cooking something uncomplicated and eating it slowly.
What stays with you after a night at The Tui is not any single detail but the cumulative effect of genuine quiet. The kind that lets you hear the water, the wind, and eventually, your own thoughts returning at their own pace.

There's something quietly radical about a one-room cabin that manages to feel both pared-back and deeply considered. The Japandi design ethos here isn't a trend slapped onto a rental — it reads as genuine restraint, where clean lines, neutral tones, and natural light do the emotional heavy lifting. Floor-to-ceiling windows blur the line between interior and the surrounding countryside, making the compact space feel expansive in a way that has nothing to do with square footage. Set along Nicole Creek in a peaceful stretch outside Waco, it occupies that rare sweet spot: rural enough to hear nature settle in around you at night, close enough to town that you're never truly isolated. It's the kind of place that suits a couple seeking stillness together, or a solo traveler who understands that simplicity, done well, is its own form of luxury — and that the memory of a genuinely restful night can outlast any grand hotel experience.

My son & I had a nice stay. it was very clean. It was well decorated. They have toiletries in case you forgot something. And we did. I forgot my bath soap, tooth brush & toothpaste. It was worth the money.

They were beyond accommodating and helpful in my process of staying. They went out of their way to make sure my day was the best could possibly be and I would highly recommend this place for a getaway.
