Had a great weekend staying here, Great views and this place is very relaxing, would definitely return

Zendo House announces itself quietly. The architecture is clean and grounded, drawing from a desert modern sensibility that favors natural materials, open sightlines, and an honest relationship between indoor and outdoor space. The name itself speaks to intention: a place built for presence, for slowing the rhythm of your days to something more deliberate. From the moment you step inside, the design language is consistent and calm, with warm earth tones, uncluttered interiors, and generous windows that frame the surrounding landscape as part of the living space.
The outdoor areas at Zendo House are where the property truly comes alive. A saltwater pool sits at the center of the experience, its clean mineral water a gentler, more natural alternative to traditional chlorine pools. Nearby, a hot tub offers a place to settle in during cooler evenings, while a dedicated firepit area creates a natural gathering point after dark. These three elements work together to shape the daily rhythm of a stay here: mornings by the pool, late afternoons in the warmth of the hot tub, and evenings spent around open flame with nothing to do but watch the sky shift. The outdoor space is designed for lingering, not just passing through.
Inside, the residence is thoughtfully appointed for groups or families seeking both togetherness and privacy. The interiors maintain a minimalist warmth, with comfortable furnishings and a layout that encourages easy movement between communal spaces and quieter corners. A fully equipped kitchen supports guests who prefer to cook at their own pace, turning meals into part of the experience rather than an afterthought. The overall feeling is one of a home that has been carefully edited rather than lavishly decorated, where every element serves a purpose and nothing competes for attention.
What stays with you after a visit to Zendo House is less about any single feature and more about the cumulative effect of its design choices. The saltwater pool that leaves your skin softer. The firepit that draws conversation out of silence. The hot tub that dissolves the last tension you did not realize you were carrying. This is a residence that understands the difference between luxury and excess, and chooses the former with quiet confidence. It does not ask you to be impressed. It simply asks you to be here.

There's a particular kind of quiet here that feels intentional — not empty, but designed. Zendo House leans into Wabi-Sabi with real conviction, letting natural materials and a muted desert palette do the work instead of decorative excess. The imperfections are the point, and that philosophy makes the space feel lived-in rather than staged. A saltwater pool in Joshua Tree is an unexpected indulgence, and the contrast of cool water against all that arid stillness shifts something in you. At night, skylights above the bed turn the ceiling into sky, and the firepit pulls people into the kind of unhurried conversation that only happens when there's nothing competing for attention. It's a property that rewards presence over productivity — the kind of place you leave feeling quieter than when you arrived.

The AirBnb was perfect for our family vacation. The location was also great and near the park entrance. We were able to visit the park every day.

This Airbnb was the perfect place for my birthday celebration. The pool and amenities were great during the heatwave! Even though we had troubles opening the pool cover, the team had open communication on all hours of the day, and made sure to get the pool up and running as soon as possible. My friends and I enjoyed our stay, and will definitely be back soon!
