nestled right next to timberline, this is a comfy cabin that feels like you're in the middle of no where! thank Dean!

The approach is half the arrival. Trees close in around you, the road narrows, and the world you left behind starts to feel like something you imagined. Then it appears: a sharp, angular roofline rising through the forest, all clean geometry against organic disorder. Modern A-Frame is a residence that feels both architecturally deliberate and deeply rooted in its wooded surroundings, a place where the lines of the structure echo the upward reach of the conifers that frame it.
Inside, the A-frame's soaring pitch opens into a light-filled living space defined by warm wood tones, vaulted ceilings, and expansive windows that pull the forest indoors. The design is modern and unfussy, with a clean kitchen, comfortable furnishings, and thoughtful details that prioritize function alongside atmosphere. The layout favors openness on the main level, with sleeping quarters tucked into the home's more intimate upper reaches. It is the kind of space where you settle in quickly, where the structure itself encourages a slower pace. Large windows serve as the primary artwork, their compositions shifting with the light and the weather.
Outside, a hot tub sits among the trees, offering a place to decompress beneath open sky and forest canopy. It is a simple amenity that becomes, in this setting, something more memorable. Steam rising through cool air, the sound of nothing much at all, the particular pleasure of warmth held against the chill of a forest evening. The surrounding outdoor space extends the home's footprint into the woods, giving you room to breathe and a reason to linger between indoors and out.
What stays with you after a night at Modern A-Frame is the quiet specificity of the experience. This is not a property trying to be everything. It is a single, well-considered home in the trees, designed for guests who want to step away without sacrificing comfort or design. The forest does most of the work here. The architecture simply gives you the right frame through which to see it.

There's a particular kind of quiet that happens when mid-century design meets deep forest, and this A-frame gets the balance exactly right — clean lines and warm wood, vintage character without the mustiness, floor-to-ceiling glass that makes the pines feel less like a backdrop and more like furniture. The stone fireplace anchors the whole place with real weight, the kind of hearth that actually changes how you move through a room. It's a cabin that doesn't ask you to rough it, but it does ask you to slow down. The hot tub tucked among the trees, the loft with its skylights — these aren't luxury flourishes so much as invitations to stay present. You leave carrying something hard to name, something that has to do with the particular hush of Rhododendron and the way firelight looks against tall glass at the edge of a forest.

Perfect mountain retreat! My husband and I were in the area for a few days of hiking and enjoy the outdoors and dean’s place was perfect. Biggest perk was the hot tub after a long day of hiking. You won’t regret booking this. Plenty of room for a couple. Would likely be ok for two couples if okay with the loft style.

The house looked just like the pictures — exactly as described. It’s located near a main road, which we initially thought might lead to some noise, but it wasn’t an issue at all (and ear plugs were thoughtfully provided just in case). The bed had the most comfortable mattress ever, and we slept so well. Overall, a great stay!
