Take the loft. The two queen rooms are lovely, but sleeping under the skylights with the scent of pine drifting through changes the entire experience—especially on a clear night when the stars feel absurdly close. Stock up at the Mt. Hood Fruit Company on your way in for grilling provisions; the outdoor setup here is genuinely good, and cooking dinner in that fenced yard with the hot tub already warming feels like a ritual worth protecting. After dark, skip screens entirely—light the stone fireplace, kill the overheads, and let the A-frame's glass walls turn the forest into your only entertainment. Walk to the Zigzag River before coffee the next morning when the mist still sits low. That silence is the whole point.

Beautiful place, just like the pictures! The house is closer to the road than you would think but the noise at night was very minimal. Great location, clean and we really enjoyed the hot tub!

Dean’s cabin was so peaceful & lovely!! My husband & I chose to spend our anniversary here & it was the perfect little getaway, surrounded by nature & waking up to the sound of birds chirping as sun rays filtered through the glass windows. We had some issues with cleanliness upon arrival (hair & pet hair on furniture & around the house), quite a few cobwebs & spiders in the bathroom (but it is a cabin in the woods so yea!) & there were a few light fixtures that were missing light bulbs so it tended to be a bit dark in the evening. But Dean was super helpful & responsive & kind, giving us a partial refund, dropping champagne off at our door to celebrate our anniversary, & even treating us to an anniversary dinner. We felt so loved & cared for & our trip was so sweet & special! Dean definitely went the extra mile & we appreciated that so much!

The house looked just like the pictures — exactly as described. It’s located near a main road, which we initially thought might lead to some noise, but it wasn’t an issue at all (and ear plugs were thoughtfully provided just in case). The bed had the most comfortable mattress ever, and we slept so well. Overall, a great stay!
