Had an incredible time, the house was absolutely beautiful!

There is a particular kind of stillness that belongs to Malibu, where the coastline bends and the Pacific stretches out in every direction, uninterrupted. Surfside Malibu by Stay Awhile Villas sits along this edge, a private residence designed for the kind of stay where the boundary between indoors and out dissolves almost entirely. This is not a hotel. It is a home, positioned where the sand meets the shore, built for small groups or families seeking the unhurried pace that only a beachfront house can provide.
The residence opens directly onto the beach, offering the kind of immediate coastal access that defines the best of Malibu living. Interiors are light-filled and casually refined, with living spaces oriented toward the water. Large windows and outdoor areas frame the ocean as a constant presence, shifting with the light throughout the day. The layout encourages gathering, with communal spaces that feel generous without losing their intimacy. Bedrooms are designed with comfort and simplicity in mind, offering a sense of retreat within the larger home. The kitchen is fully equipped for guests who prefer to cook with local ingredients, and outdoor dining areas make the most of the mild coastal climate. Mornings here tend to start slowly, with coffee taken outside and the sound of waves setting the tempo for the day.
Malibu's coastline is one of the most recognizable stretches in Southern California, a place where rugged cliffs meet long sandy beaches and the light has a quality that photographers and artists have chased for decades. The surrounding area offers surfing, hiking, and access to acclaimed restaurants and farm stands along Pacific Coast Highway. Yet the real draw of a property like this is the ability to stay put, to let the rhythm of the tides dictate the schedule rather than an itinerary.
Surfside Malibu is managed by Stay Awhile Villas, a collection focused on distinctive residential properties in sought-after destinations. The experience here is self-directed and private, with the comforts of a well-appointed home replacing the formality of traditional hospitality. What lingers after a stay is not any single amenity but the feeling of having lived, even briefly, at the water's edge, where the Pacific is not a backdrop but a companion.

There's something almost disorienting about the scale of glass here — the double-height great room doesn't frame the Pacific so much as refuse to separate you from it. The architecture has a quiet confidence, dissolving walls until the sound of surf becomes the actual texture of the space. You're above Zuma Beach but not removed from it, perched at that perfect altitude where the ocean feels both intimate and enormous. The zero-edge infinity pool plays the same trick, its water vanishing into the horizon line as if the property is slowly merging with the sea. What stays with you isn't any single dramatic moment but the cumulative effect of a place designed so that every sightline, every threshold between inside and out, reinforces the same idea: you are at the edge of something vast, and the house knows not to compete with it.

Our family of 4 stayed during the kids spring break and we had an absolute blast! Fire pits everywhere was so great for ambiance. The pool and hot tub were perfect. The views were absolutely epic! It was the perfect spot for a family getaway. The local grocery store is walkable and they have an amazing selection of groceries, snacks and basic needs. I would highly recommend this space we will definitely be back!
