Great place. Easy to get to trail heads and Breckenridge.

At over 10,000 feet, where the air thins and the mountains widen into something vast and unhurried, Skiers Right Lodge sits as a private residence designed for groups who want direct access to the slopes without sacrificing warmth or comfort at the end of the day. This is Alma, Colorado, a former mining town and one of the highest incorporated communities in North America, where the landscape is defined by evergreen ridgelines, open sky, and winters that arrive early and stay long. The lodge channels that setting into something livable and generous, offering the kind of space where ski gear dries by the door and the evening unfolds slowly around a shared kitchen.
The residence accommodates groups comfortably, with multiple bedrooms configured for families, friends, or multi-couple getaways. Common spaces are built around gathering, with an open layout that invites cooking together, spreading out after a day on the mountain, or simply settling into the quiet of a high-altitude evening. The lodge operates through Haute Haus Alma, a local property management team that handles the details of arrival and stay, ensuring the home is ready and well-maintained before guests walk through the door. This is not a hotel experience, but rather a private home with the ease and reliability of professional hospitality behind it.
Alma's position in the Colorado high country places it within close reach of some of the state's most notable ski terrain. Breckenridge is just minutes to the north, and the surrounding peaks offer backcountry access for those looking to earn their turns. The town itself is small and unhurried, a place where the mountains feel close and the pace of life adjusts accordingly. In summer, the same landscape opens up for hiking, mountain biking, and the kind of wildflower season that turns alpine meadows into something almost implausible. Year-round, the altitude and the stillness create a rhythm that feels genuinely remote, even with resort towns nearby.
What stays with you after a few nights at Skiers Right Lodge is the particular pleasure of having a real home base at elevation. Not a lobby, not a hallway, but a front door that opens onto mountain air and a kitchen where someone is already making coffee. The lodge gives a group the rare thing that most ski vacations lack: enough room to be together without being on top of each other, and a location that puts you right where the snow is deepest.

There's a particular quiet that comes with elevation — not silence exactly, but a thinning out of everything unnecessary. Skier's Right Lodge sits in that kind of quiet, tucked into Placer Valley among towering trees and the kind of wide mountain views that make you stop mid-sentence. It's a three-level lodge that feels genuinely built for gathering, with enough room across its 2,200 square feet that everyone gets a corner to themselves when they need one. The loft with its skylights and tree views is the sort of space you drift toward without planning to. And after a long day — skiing Breckenridge, exploring Alma's old mining corners — there's something deeply right about ending up around a fire pit with that high-altitude stillness settling in. It's a place that earns its memories honestly.

Beautiful cabin that was well maintained that offered privacy in the mountains. Yvonna was very responsive to all our questions and made sure that all of our needs were met. The cabin was very clean and all the amenities that were provided made us feel right at home. We would gladly stay here again!

We had the most amazing time! This air bnb is perfect if you want to vacation without the stress of vacation. There were toys for my babies and coffee in the cabinets. The views are amazing and the hot tub/grill are such a wonderful amenity.

We had a great time staying at the cabin. This certainly was one of the cleanest Airbnb’s we’ve stayed at and was conveniently located to many trails and Breckenridge! It was quiet and relaxing, just what we needed!

This was our third trip to Alma, and we love the area. Yvonna was a wonderful host and we loved our stay at her house.
