This place was great! Super easy check in and the host had great communication. Had an amazing weekend here. The place has everything you need and more. Definitely will be coming back for another peaceful getaway!

The road climbs and the trees thin, and then the Sun Valley Overlook A-Frame appears like something drawn from a daydream of mountain living: steep cedar angles, tall glass, and a panorama that seems to stretch beyond what a single window should be able to hold. This is a home built to frame the view, an A-frame whose architecture exists in honest conversation with the landscape surrounding it. The pitched roofline and open loft create a sense of vertical space that feels both intimate and expansive, a quality unique to this particular form of construction, where the walls and ceiling are one and the same.
Inside, the interiors lean into warmth and simplicity. Natural wood surfaces, clean lines, and an open layout allow the eye to travel freely from the living space to the mountains beyond. The main living area is oriented around the view, with large windows pulling in daylight and framing the valley below. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking in, and the layout accommodates small groups comfortably without sacrificing the sense of seclusion that defines the property. Bedding is arranged across the home's levels, making use of the A-frame's signature lofted geometry. The overall feeling is one of considered rusticity, a place where every surface and angle has been thought through but nothing feels overdone.
Outside, the hot tub is the defining amenity. Set to take full advantage of the overlook, it offers an unobstructed vantage point across the surrounding terrain. Morning coffee here, or an evening soak as the sky shifts through its last colors, becomes the kind of ritual that anchors a stay in memory. The outdoor space extends the living area naturally, creating room for gathering, grilling, or simply sitting still with the landscape in front of you.
The Sun Valley region is defined by its access to mountain recreation, from trails and ski terrain to rivers and open meadows. The property's elevated position provides both a sense of remove and proximity to the area's outdoor culture, making it a natural basecamp for days spent moving through the mountains and evenings spent unwinding above them. What stays with you after a visit is the clarity of the experience. No layered programming, no curated itinerary. Just the geometry of the roofline, the scale of the view, and the warmth of a place that knows exactly what it is.

There's something quietly radical about an A-frame in the West Virginia mountains that deliberately leaves out Wi-Fi — not as a gimmick, but as a statement about what it values. The architecture does the talking here: floor-to-ceiling glass pulls rolling farmland and distant peaks into the room like they're part of the furniture, and the interplay of wood, stone, and modern lines feels considered without being fussy. It's the kind of place where the hot tub under open sky isn't a luxury add-on but the emotional center of the evening, and where a fire pit becomes the only social media that matters. Best suited for people who already know the difference between being idle and being still.

Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful cabin with us. Our stay was absolutely wonderful — the space was cozy, peaceful, and had everything we needed to feel at home. We especially loved the fire pit, the views . It was the perfect getaway, and we truly appreciate the care you’ve put into making the cabin such a welcoming place!

Loved staying there! The views were more beautiful than we expected from the pictures!! The only setback was the awful sewage smell coming from the washroom the entire time the exhaust was on. Hopefully they find a way to fix that, then it will be a perfect stay. Great to walk around as well, private and peaceful.
