Beautifully restored and decorated! Very nicely furnished with supplies and furnishings. Can’t beat the location for access to the Main Street of Galena. Comfortable beds and super clean. Loved this place and would definitely recommend.

Ulysses Suites, Suite 203
There is a particular stillness to arriving at a place that feels both intimate and unhurried, where the scale of your surroundings is measured not in square footage but in the quality of light through the windows and the proximity of the sea. Ulysses Suites, Suite 203 is a standalone residence within a small collection of suites, offering the kind of stay that feels closer to borrowing a well-appointed apartment than checking into a hotel. The space is designed with clean, contemporary lines and a palette that draws from the surrounding landscape, letting the natural beauty beyond the windows do most of the work.
The suite itself is thoughtfully arranged with a comfortable living area, a well-equipped kitchen, and a bedroom that opens to views of the harbor and the Ionian Sea. Modern furnishings sit alongside warm textures and carefully chosen details that give the space a sense of personality without clutter. The kitchen allows for the kind of leisurely morning that begins with coffee made at your own pace, while the private balcony invites long evenings spent watching fishing boats return to port. There is an ease to the layout that encourages you to settle in rather than simply pass through.
Ithaca, the island that lent its name to one of literature's greatest journeys home, remains one of the quieter corners of the Greek islands. The pace here is unhurried, the coastline dramatic but accessible, the villages small and genuine. Local tavernas serve fresh catches just steps from the water, and the island's interior trails wind through cypress and olive groves with views that seem to unfold in every direction. The port town offers a handful of cafes and shops where the rhythm of island life plays out in real time, far removed from the more crowded destinations of the Aegean.
What stays with you after a few days in Suite 203 is the feeling of proportion. The space is generous enough to feel like your own, modest enough to remain personal. You cook when you want to, wander when the mood strikes, and return to a balcony where the evening light does something extraordinary to the water below. It is the rare kind of stay that asks very little of you and, in return, offers something difficult to manufacture: the sensation of time expanding, of days that feel both full and deeply your own.

There's something quietly compelling about staying inside a building that's been standing since around 1850 and has already lived several lives—including a stint as the Grant Hotel at the turn of the last century. Ulysses Suites doesn't lean on that history with heavy-handed nostalgia; instead, the renovation feels like a confident conversation between eras, where original character meets a clean, modern design sensibility. Suite 203 gives you nearly 1,400 square feet to spread out in, which is generous enough that it stops feeling like a hotel and starts feeling like a borrowed apartment in a town you wish you knew better. The gas fireplace and well-equipped kitchen quietly encourage you to stay in, and Galena's downtown is right outside the door when you don't. It's the kind of place that rewards both restlessness and stillness.

The apartment was perfectly situated in town. Parking on Bench street allowed east parking and the exit onto Main Street was perfect. We received coupons for the French bakery just outside the door which was appreciated and delicious. There were water bottles that we filled from the dispenser on the lobby level which included sparkling water. The apartment was beautiful and comfortable. It was quiet despite being off of the Main Street. We didn’t cook so I can’t fully evaluate the kitchen, but it had everything we needed. The bathrooms were large and well appointed with a steamer in one shower and a lovely bathtub together with bath salts (plus an available shower) in the master bath. This has been one of the best rentals I have had. Would definitely stay here again and have already recommended it to friends.

Suite 203 was simply amazing. Everything you could think of was there and ready. We really appreciate the fans and white noise speakers. The decorations were all unique and so very tasteful.
