So thankful to get this experience! Definitely will book again for a longer stay.

You enter through a stone façade on a narrow Florentine street, the kind of doorway you might walk past a dozen times without noticing. But behind it, FLOHOM 7 opens into something unexpected: a contemporary residence that feels less like a vacation rental and more like the private apartment of someone with deeply considered taste. The space occupies a historic building in the Oltrarno, Florence's storied left bank neighborhood, and the interiors have been shaped with a modern eye that respects the architecture without deferring to it. Clean lines, a restrained material palette, and carefully chosen furnishings create an atmosphere that is warm but uncluttered, personal but never precious.
The apartment accommodates up to four guests and is designed for comfort that rewards longer stays. The living area is open and light-filled, arranged to feel like a space you actually want to spend time in rather than simply pass through on the way to dinner. A fully equipped kitchen invites you to shop at local markets and cook at your own pace, bringing the rhythms of the neighborhood into your daily routine. Bedrooms are quiet and considered, outfitted with quality linens and a simplicity that lets the architecture breathe. Every detail suggests a host who understands that true hospitality is about removal as much as addition, editing a space down to what genuinely matters.
The Oltrarno is one of Florence's most compelling districts, a neighborhood defined by artisan workshops, local trattorias, and a pace that feels distinctly apart from the crowds across the river. Palazzo Pitti and the Boboli Gardens sit within easy reach, and the Ponte Vecchio connects you to the Duomo, the Uffizi, and the historic center in minutes on foot. But the real pleasure of staying on this side of the Arno is the texture of daily life here: morning coffee at a corner bar, the smell of woodworking from a bottega down the street, the particular quality of late afternoon light on ochre plaster. It is the Florence that residents know and visitors rarely find unless they are staying in the right place.
FLOHOM 7 offers a way of experiencing the city that hotels simply cannot replicate. There is no lobby, no concierge desk, no breakfast buffet. Instead, there is the freedom of a beautifully designed private home in one of the most storied neighborhoods in Europe. You set your own schedule, move at your own speed, and return each evening to a space that feels genuinely yours. It is the kind of stay that makes you feel less like a tourist and more like someone who, even briefly, lives here.

There's something quietly disorienting—in the best way—about staying somewhere that gently moves beneath you. This is a houseboat on Baltimore's Inner Harbor, but it doesn't feel like a novelty; it feels like someone with genuine design instincts decided to build a proper home and then set it on the water. Floor-to-ceiling windows wrap the living space, so the harbor isn't a backdrop—it's the room's defining feature. The rooftop lounge, with its fire pit and eight-seat table, gives you a rare kind of urban intimacy: the city skyline is right there, but you're slightly apart from it, floating at its edge. What lingers is the gentle sway, that constant reminder that you're not quite on solid ground, which makes everything—the coffee, the quiet, the evening light on the water—feel a little more deliberate.

I own a yacht, (pause) ok now that we’ve taken a moment for whatever judgement you’ve had to settle in, I will continue. If you know what it’s like to sleep on the water you can breeze through the next paragraph.
This not a “boat”. This is a home on the water. It is truly hard work to make a floating home comfortable.
As a boat owner and a business owner, I am truly impressed! If you’ve ever taken a shower in a boat you already know it’s cramped, uncomfortably small for any size adult & forget any hope of pressure.
I only booked this place for the “cool” factor.
I am truly blown away by the comfort, beautiful design & impeccable attention to detail.
So glad I had this experience. Will definitely rent again.
