We loved staying at this property for the Portland marathon! The home was very large and easily fit all 6 of our guests, and they had no complaints about the stay.

The porch arrives before the house does. A broad, sheltered entry framed by tapered columns and original woodwork sets the tone for this Renewed Classic Craftsman in SE, a carefully restored residence in one of Portland's most walkable southeast neighborhoods. The architecture carries all the hallmarks of early twentieth-century Craftsman design: built-in cabinetry, hardwood floors, generous window casings, and a sense of proportion that modern construction rarely attempts. But the restoration here is thorough and contemporary, bringing the home's bones into alignment with the way people actually travel and live today.
Inside, the layout unfolds with an easy logic. Common spaces flow naturally from the living room through the dining area and into a fully equipped kitchen, where guests will find modern appliances and enough counter space to cook properly. The bedrooms are quiet and well-appointed, each with thoughtful lighting and fresh linens. Bathrooms have been updated with clean tilework and quality fixtures. There is nothing performative about the renovation. It reads as a house that someone genuinely cared about, restored with attention to craft rather than spectacle. Details like period-appropriate hardware and warm, natural finishes give each room a grounded, textural quality that holds up to extended stays.
The property's 95 WalkScore is not marketing shorthand. The surrounding southeast Portland neighborhood places restaurants, coffee shops, grocery stores, bars, and public transit within genuine walking distance. This is the kind of neighborhood where mornings begin on foot, where errands and exploration overlap, and where a car feels optional rather than essential. The area's independent shops, bakeries, and dining spots reward curiosity without requiring a plan. For guests who want to venture further, Portland's broader cultural attractions, parks, and waterfront are easily accessible by transit or a short drive.
What lingers about this residence is its refusal to choose between character and comfort. The Craftsman details give the space warmth and identity. The modern updates make it effortless. You settle in quickly here, shoes by the door, coffee on the porch, the neighborhood pulling you out and the house quietly welcoming you back.

What gets you here is the architecture — a Craftsman exterior that's been genuinely restored rather than merely preserved, carrying all the weight of its original character while feeling unmistakably current inside. The interiors strike a balance that's harder than it looks: soothing neutrals grounded by real texture and color that nod to the eclectic, slightly offbeat energy of Southeast Portland rather than fighting against it. It feels like a home someone actually thought about, not a rental styled for photographs. The natural light does a lot of the work in the living spaces, and the neighborhood's 95 WalkScore means you're genuinely embedded in the rhythm of the area — artisan coffee, galleries, places you'd actually want to return to. There's a private backyard that quietly becomes the emotional center of a stay, the kind of outdoor space that earns its keep after a full day on foot. It's a property that rewards people who want to feel like temporary residents rather than visitors.

Self check in was easy. Space was clean and ready to use upon arrival. Beds were comfortable. There are many walk-able bars, restaurants, coffee shops, and a grocery store nearby. This listing is in the lower floor of an apartment building and there can be noise heard from upstairs tenets. There is also 2 bars next door and noise can be heard from the patio and street. The listing is still a great space but the noise may not be suitable for some.

The rooms were large and tastefully furnished. We really enjoyed being able to walk to coffee shops and dinner. The deep front porch gave us cover entering and exiting when it was wet outside. And everyone loved the shower--great water pressure and a nice, high shower head.

Great place to stay, very spacious. Just be aware you may have noise coming from the bar next door (even on a weeknight) as well as the unit upstairs.

Really enjoyed our stay here! After a long day moving out of our house, it was a great and highly refreshing first night on our trip to our new place!
