As the sun dips below the rugged horizon of Joshua Tree, the silhouette of Fleur by Fieldtrip emerges like a modern mirage. This architectural desert estate, designed by the renowned Wyota Workshop, stands as a testament to the harmonious blend of human ingenuity and untamed nature. Nestled on a sprawling 2.5-acre compound in the Joshua Tree Highlands, Fleur offers a retreat that not only captivates the eye but also soothes the soul.
Step through the minimalist, glass-paneled entrance and you are immediately greeted by an interior that echoes the external landscape’s serene beauty. Polished concrete floors cool underfoot contrast beautifully with the warm, textured walls that seem to glow with the desert’s golden hour light. The open-plan living area, with its expansive windows, frames the stark, mesmerizing landscape, transforming it into live artwork that changes with the passing hours.
Each room at Fleur has been meticulously designed to offer panoramic views of the surrounding desert, ensuring that the majesty of the area is never more than a glance away. The bedrooms, each a sanctuary of calm, feature plush, high-thread-count linens and bespoke furniture that mirror the angular, clean lines of the estate’s exterior. Here, the night sky pours in, inviting you to unwind under a canopy of stars, visible through the thoughtfully placed skylights.
Outside, the property extends into the desert in a series of terraces and patios, each offering a unique perspective on the landscape. A sleek, infinity-edge pool seems to spill into the horizon, its waters reflecting the vast sky and rugged mountains. As evening falls, gather around the fire pit, a perfect spot for sharing stories or sipping a glass of wine, the air perfumed with the scent of creosote and sagebrush.
Beyond the comforts of Fleur, the Joshua Tree Highlands beckon. Spend your days exploring the nearby national park, where the twisted, bristled Joshua trees stand as icons of survival and resilience. Or perhaps venture into the artistic enclave of downtown Joshua Tree, where galleries, boutiques, and cafés offer a taste of the local culture.
At Fleur by Fieldtrip, every detail has been crafted to ensure that your stay is nothing short of spectacular. From the organic minimalism of its design to the opulent touches that enrich your experience, this estate is more than just a place to stay—it’s a portal to a deeper connection with the desert’s mystic beauty.
As you prepare to depart, with the desert’s palette etched in your memory, you realize that Fleur is not just a destination; it’s a profound encounter with nature’s artistry, one that will beckon you back to the Joshua Tree Highlands time and again.

Arrive before golden hour — the polished concrete floors catch the last desert light in a way that makes the whole interior feel molten, and it's genuinely the best introduction to what Wyota Workshop was after here. Claim the fire pit at dusk rather than the pool; the creosote-scented air and the sky shifting from amber to full dark is the real showpiece. For the bedroom with skylights, sleep without setting an alarm — you'll wake naturally to predawn violet light that's almost hallucinatory. Stock up on wine and provisions in town before you settle in; once you're on the 2.5 acres, you won't want to leave, and there's no reason to. This place rewards stillness over itinerary.

Incredible property! Beautifully designed, spacious, gorgeous architecture and decor, felt like home. The pool is perfect, the casita was just as nice as the main house, the pickleball court was pristine. It was quiet, peaceful, private. A serene, idyllic, desert setting we didn't want to leave!

Perfect getaway weekend for our group of 8. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for a beautiful, private, and serene place that’s right down the road from JT. Best air bnb we’ve stayed at!

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at this stunning modern home in Joshua Tree for our wedding weekend, and it truly made the entire experience unforgettable. The house is beautifully designed — modern, elegant, and incredibly comfortable — with every detail thoughtfully considered.
Waking up to those breathtaking desert views each morning felt like something out of a dream. The space was perfect for our family, offering both luxury and tranquility. It was the ideal backdrop for such a special occasion in our lives.
The host was responsive and accommodating, which made everything smooth from check-in to check-out. We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay — it was more than just a house; it became part of our wedding memories.
We’d return in a heartbeat and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a peaceful, design-forward retreat in the desert.
