Ravinia Bungalow
There is a particular warmth to a home that has been thoughtfully kept rather than meticulously staged. Ravinia Bungalow is that kind of place. A classic residential bungalow with vintage character and a lived-in softness, it welcomes you not with grand gestures but with the quiet comfort of a well-loved house. The architecture is modest and charming, with the low-slung roofline and inviting proportions that define the bungalow tradition. Step inside and the space opens up with natural light, warm finishes, and furnishings that feel collected rather than curated.
The interior is designed for genuine comfort. A cozy living area anchors the home, with seating that invites long conversations or unhurried evenings with a book. The kitchen is fully equipped for home cooking, whether that means a simple morning coffee or something more ambitious with local ingredients. Bedrooms are restful and uncluttered, dressed in soft linens and filled with the kind of quiet that only a residential setting can offer. The layout gives guests room to spread out and settle in, making it well suited for couples, small families, or friends traveling together who prefer the rhythm of a home over the pace of a hotel.
Outdoors, the property extends the experience with space to sit, breathe, and simply be present. The surrounding neighborhood carries a residential calm that sets the tone for your stay. This is a place where mornings begin slowly and evenings wind down on your own terms. The proximity to local dining, shops, and cultural offerings means you can explore at your own pace while always having a comfortable retreat to return to.
Ravinia Bungalow does not try to impress with excess. Its appeal lies in something harder to manufacture: the feeling of arriving somewhere familiar for the first time. It is the kind of stay where the house itself becomes part of the memory, not just a backdrop to it. You leave not with a list of amenities checked off, but with the sense that you rested well, lived simply, and found exactly the kind of ease you were looking for.

There's something quietly radical about a place this small feeling this generous. Tucked into nearly two acres of green in North Oak Cliff, the bungalow operates on an artist's logic — it doesn't try to be everything, and that restraint is exactly what gives it personality. The lofted bedroom, the kitchenette, the patio — each element feels chosen rather than accumulated, and the result is a space that reads more like someone's carefully kept studio than a rental. It's built for two, and honestly, it's better for it. The proximity to Bishop Arts means you're never far from something interesting, but the real draw is how effortlessly the property holds its silence amid a city that doesn't always offer it.

Jim was great! I highly recommend staying here. Loved being greeted by his dog Puck, who came to hang out with us in our space and enjoy some belly rubs. Would love to come back again sometime

Very cozy and charming place. We felt very relaxed in the environment. Had all the essentials and we loved the shower and loft area. The library had some wonderful books as well. Our host was responsive and the dog was also a pleasant host. An easy drive away from downtown, Bishop Arts and Deep Ellum. We would enjoy staying here again.
