This is one of the best AirBnBs we ever stayed in. Hayden was incredibly helpful and responsive, the apartment is great and has everything one needs! Super recommended!

There is a particular quality to a well-designed urban loft that no traditional hotel room can replicate. The sense of volume, the openness, the feeling that you have a genuine foothold in a neighborhood rather than a temporary perch above it. Slabtown Loft Retreat offers exactly that: a residential retreat set within one of Portland's most dynamic and walkable districts, where the energy of the city meets the comfort of a space that feels entirely your own.
The loft itself is designed with clean, modern lines and an emphasis on open living. High ceilings and generous proportions give the space a sense of loft-style ease, with a layout that moves naturally between living, sleeping, and cooking areas. A fully equipped kitchen allows you to stock up at nearby markets and prepare meals on your own terms, while comfortable furnishings throughout make it easy to settle in for longer stays. The aesthetic is contemporary without being cold, striking a balance between thoughtful design and genuine livability. This is a space built for the rhythms of real life, not just an overnight stopover.
Slabtown itself is one of Portland's most appealing neighborhoods for visitors who want to be immersed in the city's culture without relying on a car. The district is known for its concentration of independent restaurants, coffee roasters, breweries, and shops, all within easy walking distance. Its central location puts you within reach of the Pearl District, Northwest 23rd Avenue, and Forest Park, giving you access to both urban energy and natural landscapes without much effort. The neighborhood has evolved rapidly in recent years, attracting a creative, design-conscious community that gives the area its distinctive character.
Slabtown Loft Retreat is managed through Stay Portland, which handles the booking process and guest experience with a focus on seamless, self-guided stays. The result is a property that gives you the independence of a private residence with the reliability of a professionally managed rental. You check in on your own schedule, move through the city at your own pace, and return to a space that feels personal rather than transactional. It is the kind of stay that rewards curiosity, that invites you to cook a late breakfast, walk to a neighborhood café, or simply enjoy the quiet of a well-made room with no agenda at all.

What sets this loft apart is how it refuses to feel like a rental — it has a point of view. The soaring ceilings and natural light don't just open the space up; they set a tone, something between gallery and living room, where modern lines meet textures warm enough to actually sink into. It's tuned to Portland's Slabtown neighborhood in a way that feels earned, not curated for a listing — you're genuinely embedded in a stretch of the city defined by its breweries, artisan coffee, and eclectic dining, all walkable. The kind of place where you return in the evening and the ambient lighting shifts the whole mood, making the same room feel intimate where it once felt expansive. It suits travelers who want to live inside a neighborhood rather than observe it from a hotel lobby.

Great location only a couple minutes from the NS loop street car and lots of places to eat nearby within a short walk.

Had a great time staying at Hayden’s place, was super accommodating with my schedule. Amazing restaurants, pubs, and stores around the home. Would stay again!

Hayden’s place was in a great location and nice and cozy. We felt like we had a good amount of privacy as well. The bed was super comfy! The first day, we found parking right up front, the second day was a little tougher, we parked about a block away (it’s all metered parking). The bathroom, although spacious, didn’t have counter space to set makeup or hot tools on so getting ready was a little complicated from a convenience perspective. Hayden was really responsive the whole time with any questions we had, check in and out were super easy. Overall, nice place for a weekend away for my fiancée’s birthday.
