Lovely stay. Nice area

There is a particular pleasure in waking up in a city neighborhood rather than passing through it. This one-bedroom residence from Stay Portland places you within walking distance of NW 23rd Avenue, one of the city's most beloved stretches of independent shops, coffee roasters, breweries, and restaurants. The apartment operates as a genuine home base rather than a hotel room, offering the kind of unhurried, self-directed experience that lets you settle into Portland's rhythms on your own terms.
The space itself is designed for comfort and simplicity. A full kitchen invites mornings spent brewing your own coffee or unpacking provisions from nearby markets. The living area provides room to stretch out after a day spent exploring, and the bedroom offers a proper retreat at the end of the evening. The layout favors livability over ornamentation, with clean lines and a sense of proportion that makes even a short stay feel grounded. Modern conveniences, including Wi-Fi and laundry access, support the feeling that this is a place you could genuinely inhabit rather than merely visit.
The surrounding neighborhood is the real draw. NW 23rd Avenue unfolds as a long corridor of independent boutiques, bookshops, bakeries, and cafés, all reachable on foot. The coffee culture here is serious and varied, and craft breweries sit comfortably alongside wine bars and neighborhood restaurants. The street has the kind of walkability that rewards aimlessness. You turn a corner and discover a new shop, linger over a second cup, or simply watch the neighborhood go about its day. The proximity to Forest Park and its miles of forested trails adds an unexpected layer of green to what is otherwise a thoroughly urban setting.
1BR Walk to Coffee, Brews & NW 23rd Shops delivers something that larger accommodations often cannot: the texture of daily life in a real Portland neighborhood. You carry your own key, keep your own hours, and move through the city as a temporary local rather than a visitor. It is the kind of stay that leaves you with a favorite café, a preferred walking route, and the quiet satisfaction of knowing a neighborhood just well enough to miss it.

What gets you here isn't the apartment itself—it's the proximity to a particular version of Portland that's hard to stumble into from a hotel lobby. This one-bedroom sits within walking distance of NW 23rd, one of the city's most characterful corridors, where local artisans and independent cafés set a pace that feels unhurried but never boring. Inside, the space leans into a kind of curated calm—thoughtful art on the walls, a full kitchen that actually invites use, and a living area that feels more like someone's considered home than a rental going through the motions. It's the kind of place that suits a traveler who wants to fold into a neighborhood rather than observe it from a distance, and that quiet sense of belonging is what lingers after you leave.

This was very comfortable place in a great neighborhood. Close to great restaurants, bars and coffee shops and parks. Parking spots were plentiful.

The place was as described. 23rd is a heavily trafficked street with large vehicles so it was quite noisy at the crack of dawn.

Hayden’s Place was in such an amazing location, walking distance to the best restaurants and shopping. Would easily recommend this spot to anyone!
