What we love about this stay
Request a top-floor three-bedroom unit facing west — the Cascade views from that balcony at golden hour are the whole point. Skip dining out your first night; stock the fridge through AvantStay's concierge before you arrive, cook something simple, and eat outside while the alpenglow hits Broken Top and South Sister. Mornings, take your coffee in the hot tub before the sun clears the ridgeline — the steam against cold mountain air is absurdly good. If you're here in winter, Mt. Bachelor is fifteen minutes closer than most people realize, so you can be first on the lifts without the early alarm. Use the bike and ski storage liberally; gear dries well overnight. The proximity to the Deschutes River trail means you're three minutes from a proper trail run without ever touching a car. Brand new place, very clean, spacious. Comfortable beds, wonderful kitchen, amazing hot tub! <br/>There were a few minor “punch list” issues, which were resolved quickly, nothing too problematic overall. <br/>Despite these issues, we did love the space and the location and would stay here again. Once the surrounding neighborhood fills in with tenants (this is a relatively new development), I suspect it will be more lively.
