The approach to FLOHOM 5 | Amanzi unfolds through one of Cape Town's quieter residential pockets, where single-story homes give way to something more deliberate. A contemporary villa set behind clean lines and generous glazing, the property announces itself not through scale but through composition. Floor-to-ceiling glass panels dissolve the boundary between interior and garden, pulling natural light deep into open-plan living spaces where neutral tones, concrete surfaces, and carefully restrained furnishings create a sense of calm that feels both curated and lived-in.
The residence accommodates up to six guests across three bedrooms, each designed with the same pared-back sensibility that defines the common areas. The primary suite opens directly onto the outdoor terrace, where a private swimming pool stretches across the rear of the property, its still surface catching the Cape's shifting light throughout the day. Loungers line the pool deck, and an outdoor dining area sits shaded and ready for long, unhurried meals. Inside, the open kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering, its clean countertops and modern appliances inviting guests to cook with ingredients sourced from nearby markets and farm shops. A spacious living area flows seamlessly into the dining space, with large sliding doors connecting the interior to the garden and pool beyond.
Amanzi sits within easy reach of Bloubergstrand and the broader Table View area, a stretch of Cape Town's Atlantic coast known for sweeping views toward Table Mountain and Robben Island. The beaches here are windswept and wide, popular with kitesurfers and walkers drawn to the long, unbroken shoreline. The surrounding neighborhood is residential and unhurried, offering the kind of privacy that hotels rarely afford. For groceries, dining, and daily needs, the local area provides practical convenience without the congestion of the city center, while Cape Town's more celebrated neighborhoods remain accessible by car.
What lingers about a stay at FLOHOM 5 | Amanzi is the way the house organizes time around simple pleasures. Morning coffee by the pool before the wind picks up. An afternoon spent reading in the living room while light moves slowly across the floor. The rhythm is yours entirely, shaped by a property that offers no agenda beyond comfort, space, and the particular stillness of a well-designed home operating at its own quiet frequency.

There's something quietly subversive about staying on the water in the middle of a city — the harbor hum just beyond the glass, the gentle motion beneath you recalibrating your sense of time. This houseboat, moored in Baltimore's Inner Harbor, trades the predictability of a hotel lobby for something more intimate and slightly untethered. The design leans into its setting rather than fighting it, with expansive windows that make the water and cityscape feel like part of the interior. It's a place that suits people who want proximity to downtown without being absorbed by it — the kind of stay where cooking in a well-equipped kitchen or eating on the deck feels like the main event, not a compromise. What lingers is the contrast: urban energy held at arm's length by a thin membrane of water.

I booked this place last minute and Brian was able to accommodate me. The place was cleaned and unique. The area was quiet and relaxing which was what I was looking for. I would recommend this place to whoever that wants a unique getaway. Overall, great experience at Flohom 5.

From the very first step onboard the houseboat, we were in love with it. Such a unique experience. The view sitting on the upper deck was the absolute best. The best air bnb we have ever done. It will be hard to top this one. We will definitely be back. Thank you Brian for your great communication and help with local restaurants. An absolute pleasure. <br/>Dustin
