The Elbridge Bayfront Studio
The first thing you notice is the proximity. Not the suggestion of water somewhere beyond a treeline or across a road, but the immediate, unmediated presence of East Grand Traverse Bay just steps from where you stand. The Elbridge Bayfront Studio sits directly on the waterfront in Traverse City, Michigan, offering something increasingly rare among vacation stays: genuine bayfront access without compromise. The space is a thoughtfully appointed studio residence, compact but considered, designed to frame the water as the central experience rather than a backdrop to something else.
Inside, the studio is configured for comfort and simplicity. The layout is open and efficient, with a sleeping area, a well-equipped kitchen, and living space that makes full use of its footprint. Large windows pull in natural light and keep the bay in constant view, connecting you to the water whether you're cooking breakfast or settling in for the evening. The furnishings are clean and contemporary, with a warmth that keeps the space from feeling sterile. A private outdoor area extends the living space toward the shoreline, giving you a place to sit with morning coffee or watch the light shift across the bay as the afternoon stretches on. The property accommodates two guests, making it particularly well suited for couples seeking a waterfront retreat without the sprawl of a larger rental.
Traverse City itself needs little introduction to those who know northern Michigan, but for the uninitiated, the area delivers a distinctive blend of small-town character and genuine culinary credibility. The city's downtown is walkable and filled with independent restaurants, wine bars, and shops that reflect the agricultural richness of the surrounding Leelanau and Old Mission peninsulas. Cherry orchards, vineyards, and farm stands line the roads in every direction, and the bay provides opportunities for kayaking, paddleboarding, swimming, and simply sitting still. In winter, the landscape transforms entirely, and the region's proximity to ski areas and snowshoe trails gives the studio year-round appeal.
What stays with you after a visit to The Elbridge Bayfront Studio is the clarity of the experience. There is no lobby, no concierge desk, no programmed itinerary. There is a bay, a well-made space to return to at the end of the day, and the particular stillness that comes from being right on the water. It is the kind of place that asks very little of you and, in doing so, gives back something you didn't realize you were missing.

What strikes you about The Elbridge is how quietly it resists the usual Ocean City energy — it's a studio that feels considered rather than decorated, with high ceilings and clean lines that let the space breathe in a way most beach rentals never do. Tucked into a residential stretch on the bayside, it trades boardwalk noise for bay views through the windows and a private garden entrance that gives the whole arrival a different texture. The white cotton linens on the king bed, the walk-in closet, the outdoor shower — these aren't luxuries exactly, but they signal someone thought carefully about how a beach day actually ends. It's the kind of place that suits a couple looking for proximity to everything without being inside all of it.

Such a great weekend away! Perfect location- quiet and away from the noise but close walk to beach, shops, and restaurants. Place is exactly as pictured. Would not hesitate to go back!

Not only was Sarah’s place the greatest, but so was she! She made our little family feel right at home. The place was SO CLEAN & she provided everything you could need. The location was great too—only about a 10 minute walk to the boardwalk.

This place was AMAZING to stay at. It looks exactly like all the pictures and has everything you could possibly need. It’s a quick walk to the beach and board walk and it feels very private and peaceful. Chris and Sarah were both very kind as well as their pups, and they leave an amazing guide book to help figure out the best way to enjoy your stay. I don’t think we would have had a better stay elsewhere ! We hope to come back !
