This is an amazing place to stay in Joshua Tree. They really do have everything to make the stay comfortable and fun! Love that they weren’t stingy with things like garbage bags/towels/games/etc

The road narrows and the landscape opens. Joshua trees stand like sentries against a sky so wide it feels like its own architecture. Somewhere between the national park and the small-town stillness of Twentynine Palms, Moonstone Bungalow appears: a low-slung desert residence designed not for solitary contemplation but for the kind of trip where everyone is together, where the doors stay open and the nights stretch long under an unclouded canopy of stars.
The property is configured for groups, with sleeping arrangements that accommodate larger parties comfortably across its layout. Inside, the spaces are bright and functional, balancing a casual desert aesthetic with genuine livability. A full kitchen anchors the communal experience, equipped for real cooking rather than token gestures toward self-catering. The living areas are generous enough to hold a crowd without feeling cavernous, and the furnishings lean toward comfort over statement. This is a house that wants to be used. A washer and dryer, reliable Wi-Fi, and smart TV access handle the practical details, while air conditioning keeps the interiors cool against the Mojave heat.
Outdoors is where Moonstone Bungalow earns its keep. A private hot tub sits beneath that vast desert sky, and the outdoor spaces are built for lingering: fire pit evenings, morning coffee in the dry air, afternoons spent doing very little at all. A BBQ grill extends the kitchen outside, and the surrounding terrain offers the kind of quiet that city-dwellers forget exists. The property also features a pool, giving the group a place to gather during the warmer months when the high desert demands something cool and immediate. Between the outdoor amenities and the sheer openness of the land, much of the day unfolds outside.
Twentynine Palms sits at the northern entrance to Joshua Tree National Park, placing the bungalow within close reach of some of the most iconic desert landscapes in the American West. The town itself carries an unhurried, artist-colony energy, with small galleries, roadside cafes, and a military history that gives it a character distinct from its more polished neighbors. Hikes through the park's boulder fields and Joshua tree forests are the obvious draw, but the area also rewards those who simply want to sit still and watch the light change across the valley. Moonstone Bungalow meets that impulse with a home base that feels genuinely equipped for the full spectrum of a desert trip, from the active days to the do-nothing afternoons, from the group dinners to the late-night conversations that only happen when the noise of ordinary life falls away.

What gets you here is the desert, but what holds you is the scale of togetherness this place quietly makes room for. Moonstone Bungalow sits in Joshua Tree with the kind of spaciousness — 3,000 square feet in the main house, a separate casita just steps away — that lets a group breathe without scattering. The design leans sophisticated but never stiff, with plush furnishings that feel genuinely lived-in against the raw Mojave backdrop outside the windows. There's a natural rhythm to it: communal meals in the kitchen, evenings around the fire pit under a sky that earns every cliché about desert stars. And then there's the casita, which offers something rare in group travel — actual privacy without the guilt of disappearing. It's the kind of property where the best moments aren't planned but simply arrive, shaped by the landscape and the unhurried company of people you chose to be with.

What a great place! Just bring food & drinks and you don't need to leave. Very clean & modern. We had 16 people and there was plenty of room & activities for all of us. I didn't hear a complaint from anyone. Moonstone met all of my expectations.

The location was ideal — just a short drive to Joshua Tree National Park and conveniently close to grocery stores, which made it easy to stock up on supplies.
