Hale Haven - Lake House w/ Hot Tub and Loft
The approach to Hale Haven sets the tone before you even step inside. A lakefront house built for lingering, it sits close to the water with the kind of unforced warmth that makes you exhale on arrival. The architecture leans into its surroundings rather than competing with them, with wood-clad interiors, open sightlines toward the lake, and a layout that feels both intimate and surprisingly spacious. A loft space rises above the main living area, lending the house a sense of vertical openness and a quiet perch for retreat when the mood strikes.
The living spaces at Hale Haven are designed around togetherness and ease. The main level gathers cooking, dining, and lounging into a single fluid area, where lake views pull your attention outward through generous windows. The kitchen is fully equipped for real meals, not just reheating, and the dining area sits close enough to the action that conversation never breaks. Upstairs, the loft offers a sleeping area with a vantage point over the living space below, a detail that gives the house its particular character. It is the kind of arrangement that appeals equally to couples seeking seclusion and small groups looking for a shared base.
Outside, the hot tub is the house's defining amenity. Set within reach of the water's edge, it extends the day well past sunset, offering a place to settle in after hours spent on or near the lake. The surrounding outdoor space invites the unhurried rituals of lakeside living: morning coffee with mist still hanging on the surface, afternoon reads in open air, evening drinks as the light fades behind the treeline. The lake itself is the primary attraction, shaping the rhythm of each day around swimming, kayaking, fishing, or simply watching the water change color with the passing hours.
What Hale Haven offers is not spectacle but presence. It is a house that rewards slowing down, where the hot tub steams under open sky, the loft glows warmly after dark, and the lake sits just beyond the door, constant and unhurried. You leave feeling less like you visited a destination and more like you briefly lived somewhere that made perfect, quiet sense.

There's a particular kind of quiet that belongs to small Michigan lake towns, and this cottage on Long Lake leans into it without pretending to be something it's not. It's a renovated lakefront place that feels considered rather than decorated — open living spaces framed by big windows, a loft with queen beds looking out over the water, and a layout that lets a group of eight spread out without losing the sense of togetherness. What makes it stick is the way indoor comfort and the lake feel continuous: the dock with kayaks and a paddle boat, the hot tub on the deck, the fire pit for after dark. It's the kind of stay where the kitchen actually invites cooking, and the bedrooms — with their blackout blinds and charging stations — suggest someone thought about how people really rest. Not a resort, not roughing it. Just a well-loved cottage that earns its spot on the water.

Great location, easy to get to, so much space in the house for the whole family. <br/>Sarah and team were extremely responsive, couldn’t ask for a better place to start the Michigan summer season.

The view looking over the water was unreal and 100 times better in person! Going during the week was perfect, it was so peaceful and all the neighbors(passing boats) were so kind. Federico was so quick to respond to any questions we had and was super helpful. We would recommend this place to everyone and definitely will be back in the future 😇

We had an amazing stay at Hale Haven! As someone who grew up locally to the area I had reservations on finding a comfy, relaxing space for my family to have a small pre-college get away. We had 4 adults, and 3 college bound teenagers and we never felt like we had to find entertainment, it was all at our fingertips. The host was responsive to all of our questions, we had all the information well in advance so we could plan our visit with amazing local recommendations. We enjoyed laying by the lake, access to our own boats we were able to dock right at the house. The kitchens & bathrooms were well stocked, and we were super appreciative of the dog area outside. The highlight of the trip for me personally was the Post Secrets book- I have been talking about Post Secrets for months and no one knew what it was, we spent a lot of time reading through the secrets and bonding. It was a great stay, and we look forward to returning in the future.
