Great place to stay- close to all things Magnolia. Charming historic home.

The front porch is the first thing you notice. It stretches across the face of the house like an invitation, framed by clean white columns and the kind of unhurried residential quiet that belongs to a neighborhood where people still wave from their yards. The Restored 1930s Uptown Bungalow is a two-bedroom home that has been carefully returned to its original character while gaining all the comforts a modern stay requires. Original hardwood floors run through the living spaces, and period-appropriate details give the interiors a sense of continuity with the home's Depression-era roots. Nothing here feels staged or overwrought. It feels like a house that has been genuinely loved, then thoughtfully shared.
Inside, the layout is open and intuitive. The living room flows naturally into a dining area and a fully equipped kitchen where you can prepare meals at your own pace. Two bedrooms offer comfortable sleeping arrangements, and a well-appointed bathroom serves the home with tasteful finishes. The furnishings strike a balance between vintage charm and contemporary ease, with enough personality to feel intentional but enough restraint to let the architecture speak. A washer and dryer are available on-site, and wireless internet keeps the house connected without intruding on its unhurried character. The backyard extends the living space outdoors, offering a private area to sit with morning coffee or unwind after a day spent exploring.
The bungalow sits in the Uptown neighborhood, just two minutes from the Magnolia Silos, the sprawling destination that Chip and Joanna Gaines transformed into one of the most visited attractions in the region. The proximity is a defining advantage of this property, placing you within an easy walk of the Silos' shops, bakery, gardens, and seasonal events without sacrificing the residential calm that makes the stay feel genuinely local. The surrounding streets carry the easygoing pace of a neighborhood that predates the area's tourism surge, lending an authenticity that hotel corridors and commercial districts cannot replicate.
What lingers after a stay at this bungalow is the rhythm it encourages. Mornings begin slowly on the porch. Afternoons drift between exploring nearby attractions and returning to a home that asks nothing of you. Evenings settle into the kind of comfortable silence that only a well-built house from another era can provide. It is not a resort experience or a design statement. It is something quieter and, for many travelers, something better: a real home in a real neighborhood, restored with care and offered with generosity.

There's a particular kind of quiet confidence in a home that's been restored rather than reinvented — where the original wood floors and trim aren't just preserved but feel like the whole point. This 1930s Waco bungalow carries that energy, a place where teal accents and mid-century touches sit comfortably alongside details that have been here for nearly a century. It doesn't try to erase its age; it leans into it. The country-style kitchen with its open shelving, the front porch that practically insists you sit down — it all reads as considered rather than curated. Two miles from Magnolia Market but tucked into a neighborhood that feels genuinely its own, this is the kind of stay that rewards people who'd rather settle into a place than just check into one.

We loved our stay at Matt & Samantha’s house! It was decorated so beautifully, they added thoughtful touches (like a steamer and hanging rack & luggage racks)), and served as the perfect spot for our girls trip. We would definitely stay here again.
