Kenneth was a very nice and helpful host. We enjoyed our stay and will definitely come back if we are in town! Thank you!

There is something unexpectedly delightful about a home that announces itself as a honeycomb. The Honeycomb Container Home is exactly what its name suggests: a thoughtfully converted shipping container residence situated just twelve minutes from Magnolia and Baylor University in Waco, Texas. It is compact, clever, and designed with a playful sense of purpose that makes every square foot feel intentional. The exterior reads industrial, all corrugated steel and geometric form, but step inside and the space opens into something warm, well-considered, and surprisingly spacious in feel.
The interior leans into a clean, modern aesthetic with honeycomb-inspired touches woven throughout the design. The layout is efficient without feeling constrained, offering a comfortable sleeping area, a functional kitchenette, and living space that invites you to settle in rather than simply pass through. Natural light fills the container through well-placed windows, and the finishes strike a balance between rustic texture and contemporary simplicity. It is the kind of place that photographs well but lives even better, where the novelty of the architecture gives way to genuine comfort within minutes of arrival.
Outdoors is where the property truly comes alive. A dedicated pickleball court anchors the exterior experience, offering guests something genuinely uncommon for a vacation rental of this scale. Beyond the court, the outdoor spaces are designed for lingering: places to sit, gather, and enjoy the open Texas sky. The property operates through VillaStay, and the overall experience is oriented toward independent travelers and small groups looking for something more distinctive than a conventional hotel room or generic rental. It is well suited to couples, solo travelers, or friends seeking a short getaway with character.
Waco itself has evolved into a destination with real personality, shaped by its university culture, its growing food and maker scene, and its position along the Brazos River. The Honeycomb Container Home places you within easy reach of the area's main attractions while keeping you rooted in a quieter, more private setting. What stays with you after a night here is the sense that good design does not require grand scale. Sometimes the most memorable stays are the ones that reimagine what a home can be, built from steel and sunlight and a willingness to think differently.

There's something genuinely disarming about a place that fits inside twenty feet of repurposed steel yet never once feels like a compromise. The pine shiplap interior and cedar-clad exterior give it a warmth that quietly argues against everything you'd expect from a shipping container, while the full glass entry panels where the original container doors once stood let the outside feel like part of the floor plan. It's a space designed with real conviction — every square inch considered, nothing performative. The rooftop deck, reached by spiral staircase, adds a dimension that most tiny homes simply can't offer: actual breathing room, open sky, a place to linger after dark under color-shifting light. This is a stay for two people — or one — who find genuine pleasure in clever design and don't need square footage to feel at ease.

Our stay was absolutely amazing! My boyfriend and I took a trip to Waco to visit my graduate school, Baylor University, before I start in January. We found these amazing little homes that were transformed from shipping containers. It was the perfect size for the two of us for our 4-night stay in Waco. The kitchen was great for making breakfast and the deck was ideal for watching the sunset. There was plenty of amenities and everything you could ever need while on a trip! I highly, highly recommend and would definitely stay again.
