The sign catches you first. A swooping, vintage marquee against a backdrop of San Jacinto peaks and wide desert sky. Apollo Palm Hotel occupies one of Palm Springs' original mid-century motor lodges, reimagined with the kind of irreverent polish that honors the city's golden age without being precious about it. The architecture is low-slung and confident, all clean lines and open-air corridors framed by bougainvillea, mature palms, and that particular quality of light that makes everything in the Coachella Valley feel slightly cinematic. It is a hotel that understands the DNA of this place and wears it well.
Thirty-six rooms and suites are arranged around the property's central courtyard and pool, each designed with a palette that pulls from the surrounding desert landscape. Interiors lean into bold color and pattern, mixing terrazzo-style flooring, custom furnishings, and textured accents with an eye that feels playful but deliberate. Many rooms open directly onto the pool deck or onto private patios, collapsing the distance between indoors and out in the way that only desert architecture can. The pool itself is the property's social heart, a generous, palm-lined space with sun loungers, daybeds, and a poolside bar that keeps the energy easy and unhurried through the afternoon.
The hotel's restaurant and bar extend this spirit of relaxed desert hospitality with cocktails and a food menu designed around casual, shareable plates. Evenings here tend to gather around the outdoor spaces, where the temperature drops and the sky opens into that vast, violet desert dark. The property also offers bicycles for cruising the neighborhood, and the concierge can arrange excursions into the surrounding landscape, from hiking in Indian Canyons to exploring the vintage shops and galleries along Palm Canyon Drive. The hotel sits just off the main downtown corridor, close enough to walk to the best of the city but set back enough to feel like its own world.
Palm Springs has always attracted people who understand the appeal of doing less with great intention. Apollo Palm Hotel channels that sensibility without irony. It is a place where mornings are slow, afternoons revolve around water and shade, and the rhythm of the day bends toward pleasure rather than productivity. What stays with you is the feeling of a hotel that treats the desert not as a backdrop but as the entire point.

What we love about this stay
There's a quiet confidence to this place — it doesn't try to compete with the ancient city outside its doors, but rather lets Athens seep in naturally. The citrus-scented lobby, the Aegean-inspired palette in the rooms, the garden where breakfast leans into local honey, olives, and artisan cheeses — it all feels like a property that understands where it is without performing it. The terrace, shaded by olive trees, is the kind of spot where a glass of Greek wine becomes the actual punctuation mark on your day, not just a drink. It's a hotel for the traveler who wants centrality without chaos, and a sense of place that lingers well after checkout.

The best hotel I have ever stayed so far! All the staff was extremely helpful and kind, they made me feel welcomed from the check in and made sure that my stay was superb. I got un upgrade and couldn’t thank them enough as my room was fabulous! The property was very clean and every day they were changing towel, make beds, clean the bathroom and so on.

We used the Apollo Palm Hotel in Athens to host the speakers and participants in our international conference. We were all very pleased by the warm welcome, the kind staff who went over and above to accommodate us, the rich breakfast (many of our guests kept commenting on how great the breakfast was), the atmosphere, the attention to detail. The cookies and the lemonade in the Lobby were adding an extra touch. The palm trees in the court yard made it great for photo shoots. The rooms and the public bathrooms were always clean, the hospitality team were very friendly and smilie. As the organizer of the group I had the privilege to work closely with Christina, the sales manager of the hotel! If I could give a 10-star review for her, I would definitely do it. She is exceptional!!!
