Absolutely enjoyed the weekend stay. Unfortunately was not able to enjoy a bit of the amenities because of hurricane weather but that is of no fault of the owners, of course. Comfortable bed and linens for snuggly nights of watching movies.

Hideout Hotels
There are cabins designed for quiet retreat, and then there are cabins designed for something more generous. Creative Cabin w/ Pickleball, Hot Tub, & Sauna falls into the latter category, a mountain residence where every corner invites activity, togetherness, or the kind of unhurried fun that makes group travel feel purposeful. The property is part of the Hideout Hotels collection, a curated portfolio of design-forward vacation rentals that treat each home as a destination in itself. Here, the experience is built around play and comfort in equal measure.
The cabin offers a thoughtfully equipped interior with sleeping arrangements that accommodate groups comfortably, making it well suited for families, friend trips, or creative retreats. Outside, the property reveals its true character. A regulation pickleball court anchors the outdoor experience, offering something genuinely rare in a vacation rental setting. A hot tub provides the counterpoint, a place to settle in after a day of movement or exploration. A sauna rounds out the wellness offering, turning the property into a place where physical activity and deep relaxation coexist naturally. These are not token amenities. They are the backbone of the stay, shaping how guests move through their days.
The surrounding landscape extends the invitation outward. Mountain air, forested terrain, and the kind of natural stillness that makes mornings feel longer and evenings feel warmer. The property's location connects guests to outdoor recreation and the unhurried rhythms of mountain living, where hikes, local dining, and scenic drives fill the hours between games and soaks. The cabin serves as a base camp with character, close enough to local attractions to explore but complete enough to make staying in feel like the better option.
What lingers after a stay here is the sense of a home that was designed with intention. Not the curated minimalism of a design showpiece, but the warmth of a place that understands what people actually want when they travel together. Space to move. Reasons to laugh. A hot tub waiting at the end of it all. Creative Cabin delivers a version of mountain hospitality that feels personal and spirited, the kind of place where the best moments happen not because they were planned, but because the setting made them inevitable.

There's a maximalism here that feels rare in cabin culture — every surface layered and considered, as if someone with real taste decided that retreating into nature didn't require surrendering beauty. The Bear is only 450 square feet, but it carries the weight of a place designed with intention rather than constraint. You feel it in the textures, the furnishings, the way the interior somehow converses with the landscape outside rather than competing with it. And then there's the broader Hideout Hotels grounds — the cedar-scented barrel sauna, the cold plunge that resets something deeper than muscles, the wood-fired pizza maker turning dinner into an occasion. It's a property that understands the difference between rustic and rough, between curated and sterile. The kind of place that lingers not because it was luxurious, but because it made you feel like yourself in a setting you didn't want to leave.

The cabin and its amenities were everything we could want! We enjoyed and used the personal hot tub and fire pit daily. We also used most of the other amenities on the property such as the hammocks, dry sauna, and putt putt golf. The cabin itself was clean and stylish. Being a gated area meant there was no traffic. The area was quiet and peaceful. We loved this location for its close proximity to several state parks and waterfalls. We also ate at several good restaurants in Cookeville. It is also close enough to Nashville that we did spend one afternoon there. I did message Jake once during our stay and he was quick to respond.

We had a fantastic stay at Jake’s Bear Cabin! The scenery was absolutely breathtaking and provided the perfect backdrop for a relaxing getaway with our family, including our newborn, 2-year-old, and 3-year-old.
The kids had a blast enjoying the hot tub, which was such a hit! We brought our own pack and play since there wasn’t one available at the time, but that didn’t hinder our experience at all.
Jake and his team has clearly put a lot of thought into every detail, from the charming decor to the overall ambiance of the cabin. It made us feel right at home, and we truly appreciated the effort that went into creating such a welcoming environment.
We left feeling refreshed and with wonderful memories! We highly recommend Bear Cabin for families looking for a serene retreat. Thank you, Jake, for a memorable stay.
